Will this work on the 27" 5K Retina 2015 model?

It is not necessary for any iMac from Lee 2012 to 2020. The thermal sensor is on the back of the display. Pryor models of the 21.5 and 27 inch, with a DVD player require a thermal sensor for the drive from 2009-2011, as the thermal sensor plugged into the hard drive. I models prior to that, the 20 and 24 inch had a thermal sensor stuck to the top of the hard drive. I’ve upgraded at least 100 2012 to 2017 21.5 and 27 inch iMacs to SSD, and never once needed an aftermarket temp sensor.

will this work with an iMac from late 2009 (model identifier is iMac11,1)?

I don't believe the late 2009 iMacs needs this.
