New Review: Update: Holding true after several months. This is the best designed mouse I've ever used. I'm a freelance designer, so I like to surround myself with well designed stuff to help fuel my process. This mouse is one of those things. It's not a gamer mouse, because it's not heavy. It's a designer's mouse because it's the perfect mid weight and solid as a rock. Solid clicks, lightweight, and wide (so no crabby hand). It looks and feels like a well designed weapon. I love it. Old Review (still valid): I keep hearing rumors this company is "out of business" then "back in business". I'm not sure. I've always loved this company's products. This mouse is so awesome. It's medium sized, lightweight, and feels solid. The buttons click with that perfect feedback and tiny audible click. You know that sweet perfect click feeling. All other features work as well. Mousewheel is smooth yet has that perfect sequential bumpy scroll feel. I love this mouse.

It is a very nice mouse that looks great, has good functionality, and feels nice in my hand. At least it did until I accidentally broke off the pinky rest (with minimal force by the way) and the left mouse button decided one day from now on when holding it down it will randomly release itself.

The adjustable palm on this mouse is pretty helpful to me cause I have some wider palms and long fingers, after i put some grip tape onto the buttons and palm this became my favorite mouse.

This is the older Rat 4 not the newer Rat 4+. Both look & weigh the same (90 grams w/o cable). The newer + version will cost you about $16 more. So if you want a higher DPI, more ambient lighting choices & an upgraded Pixart 3330 sensor spending the extra $16 may be worth it. Otherwise the older Rat 4 is a good choice. The driver/software for the older rats like the 4 is now available on Mad Catz website. However, unlike the newer +rats the older software is no longer supported. It works fine for me but it can have a few quirks. For example, I set up the buttons for Battlefield & when I click on "Battlefield" entry I get a Load/Error message. I can't delete the BF entry even after deleted & reinstalling the driver/software. Since then I've added several games w/o any problems but the original faulty Battlefield entry still shows up. I like the firm feel of the buttons & the adjustable palm rest. The mouse is accurate during game play & is usable for ever day use as well. The Rat 4 is a bit wider than other mice so if you have smaller hands it may not be comfortable. My hands are average width so for me its a comfortable mouse, just a different feel.

I would give this product no stars. I’m so upset spent 50 dollars on this and it comes used and missing the usb and the drag and drop software. To top it off it was already opened with rust where the battery goes. I’m so upset because it was expensive!

I've been wanting to try this mouse for sometimes and finally got around to it. It looks cool in person. The ergonomics are not bad. My hand immediately got used to the mouse. The weight is agreeable, nothing too fancy. I love the clicks and the scrolling wheel on it though. They are very comfortable. I bought this mouse to play League of Legend with so I don't really use the other buttons and functions. It's a great mouse in my opinion.

Mouse is great and I like how comfortable it is and it's also adjustable. My problem is I want to be able to program the buttons but because this company is no longer around, there's no software support so the buttons are whatever the presets are. If I was able to program the buttons I would have given this a 4 or 5 stars.

My last RAT7 lasted me almost 6 years and they make great products! I'm so happy with my replacement RAT4 it's so awesome! Excellent quality gaming mouse for a budget price! ;) Works and looks amazing and who doesn't love a bargain with this great low Amazon price :) Very happy indeed...
