Review: Plant Based Whole Foods - I thought that this would be a good introduction for my son who struggles with his weight and doesn't know what foods are better for him than others. I like the simplicity of the book which explains the reasons to eat whole foods rather than refined food. I also think that the section on creating meals using whole foods will help him, as the tips are really practical and simple to follow for a beginner - such as having a salad each day and making your meal as colorful as possible. A good book if you aren't sure where to start. Review: Good explanation of what a whole foods diet is - I was expecting a more traditional diet book -- one chapter of introduction and then just recipe after recipe. This book is different. It is really a beginner's guide to a whole foods diet, explaining what a whole foods diet is, how it is different from a vegetarian or raw food diet, the benefits of a whole foods diet, which cooking methods are best for preserving nutrients, the best ways to transition from a highly-processed foods diet (aka Standard American Diet) to a whole foods diet, etc. In other words, all the stuff you need to know before you start making the recipes, which are super general and found at the very end of the book, but are certainly sufficient to get you started. Once you begin with a whole foods diet, you're sure to progress very quickly to other whole foods recipe books, confident that you have a complete grounding in the basics.

This is a pamphlet NOT a book, and geared toward elementary school children
This pamphlet reads like a high school essay. I am absolutely shocked that it was published and sells for such a high price. The author uses a large font, quadruple spaces between her bulleted lists, leaves a large amount of white space on most pages, and repeats the same basic information throughout the book. Had the author of this tiny 57-page book used a normal font and normal margins, she would probably have a 10-page book. It is geared for a child first learning about nutrition, and should be marketed this way. Adults will learn very little. You will not find a bibliography as she does not use any quotes or expert information from medical and nutrition experts. She doesn't cite anything as there really isn't anything to cite. You will literally read it cover to cover in 10 minutes. Absolutely a complete waste of money - I can't return this book to Amazon fast enough!

No Excuses Now!
The author has put together an outstanding resource for anyone wanting to learn what all the buzz about eating whole foods. She covers what to foods to eat and more importantly what foods to steer clear of. She gives some great tips on how to eat healthier like, adding flaw seed to whole grain cereal, and adding plant based, natural nut butters to whole grain bread. She further discusses the heart healthy foods, like almonds, blueberries and broccoli, and how proper foods and healthy skin care work in conjunction with one another. I appreciated the fact that the author goes so far as to give a list nutrients and which whole foods will provide them. This book is full of solid content. No fluff. I have no excuses now!

The Whole Foods Plant Based Diet by Gabby Roles
The book starts off by describing Whole Foods and follows through the 'Whys' these foods are better for you, things to avoid, getting protein from, and how to ease into a plant based diet. Finally, several cooking ideas are presented in a factual manner. Missing are the usual colorful images that fill the pages of most similar books, but the information is presented quite adequately without them.

Ways To Eat healthy
This is an easy to follow book. Starts with the basics and gradually works its way to more adnaved stuff about the whys and ifs of a whole food plant based diet. The book explains why the quote "You are what you eat," is not an overstatement. Whether you are taking a whole food plant based approach to combat acute or chronic illness; or just for a whole healthy balanced diet, there is a guide in this book that will see you through. Highly recommended!

You can use this book as a reference tool - great information
There's a mountain of information here. It explains the value of a healthy lifestyle and the need to change from 'fast and convenient foods' replacing them with easily prepared alternatives that are healthy and affordable. Beans (legumes) for example are amongst the cheapest foods available and you can do so much with them! I didn't realise that steaming broccoli is not a good idea. I steam all my vegetables and thought I was doing the right thing. It surprised me to find that stir frying is a better alternative. Gabby gives some nice easy tips too which I appreciated. A very informative book and a great resource.

What I will say is that this book is a REVOLUTIONARY read and is going to turn any other organic plant diet you've had ON ITS HEAD. You are what you eat
If you are tired with living on overly processed food and handfuls of supplements then you will love this. If you want to move to a healthier lifestyle then this book is most definitely for you. I found it very interesting to read a book where you eat a diet that's based on real food. Inside you will learn all about the different foodstuffs, what who food is, how to make the transition to a whole food diet and more. This book is full of interesting, useful information and I highly recommend it.

Bandwagon publishing
There is nothing wrong with the content, however nothing new to add and not worth the purchase price in my opinion. I wish I had put the money towards something with more content. This is the downside of ebooks - in a books shop I would have picked this up flicked through it and put it down again.
