Perfect size for meat sticks. Smokes okay
I purchased these prior and probably will again. These are plant based cellulose. Does not add any flavor to meat. Initially packs okay, no presoaking required. Good snap after smoking. Will split out during packing but very uniform sizes. dose shrink down with meat, but will loosen over time and becomes tough as it continues to absorb moisture in a few days. Have tried dehydration it helps but causes degraded meat texture. Vacuum packed for storage, moisture re-absorption from meat still a problem caused the casings to loosen and become undesirable to chew, no snap. Recommend as I haven't found any better replacement, do not know who actually makes these I suspect LEM isn't manufacturer. They do have an incredible line of meat processing equipment.

19mm is Great for Venison Snack Sticks
I purchased the 19mm smoked mahogany casings to make venison pepperoni sticks. They come as pictured and have a slight oily lubricant on them that is reabsorbed after they are filled with meat. They're more difficult to overstuff and split than natural casings. Depending on how well I dry the pepperoni sticks , these casings can have a pleasant snap to them when eaten or can take on a softer, chewier texture. I find that they are snappy when first removed from the oven (that makes sense) but tend to rehydrate and soften up after a day or so. I've eaten them both ways, and I've also easily removed the casings if I'm not in the mood to chew on them. Because I don't use nitrates or nitrites ("cure") in my meats--which give the meat a darker, pink color--I like these for the dark color they impart to the pepperoni sticks during drying. I really didn't detect any kind of smokey flavor passed to the meat. The casings are still a little inflexible immediately after they are stuffed, so it's more difficult to link them or tie them off if your method calls for it. However, after letting the stuffed casings sit for 15 minutes or so, they start to absorb moisture from the meat and become much more pliable. I tried the 17mm casings and felt they were too small to give me that store-bought pepperoni stick taste and mouth feel, especially with lean meat. 19mm is now my preferred size for snack sticks. The company's estimate on the amount of product it will hold is reasonable.

Not great, Waltons are better.
Not as good as the ones Waltonโs sell. These wonโt fit over a 1/2โ horn, Waltonโs will. They are tougher / stiffer material so you have to separate it and feed it on the horn a few feet at a time. They also are a harder bite thru when finished. Side by side they are an inferior casing. Waltonโs charges more but you absolutely get what you pay for on these. I wonโt use them again.

This is the only product my husband will let me buy for his sausage sticks. They're easy to use. The quality is great and great value for the money

Easy to use but split open while cooking.
Theses casings work great and are easy to use. The only issue is they split open while cooking. This is not a huge problem if you are not putting your sausages in a magazine for show. I will buy again I am sure.

Great Casings
I had no experience with collagen casings until now. Ordered package of 21mm casings and received package with 3 sticks. I received shipment very quickly. Everything was as expected. Stuffing them went with no problem. During the process they cracked couple of times but nothing out of ordinary and it's easy to fix. Post says that this is good for 40lb of meat. This i'm not so sure about. I had about 12 lb and used about one and a half sticks. I would say that it's good for 30-35 lb. After that I hanged them in the smoker. No problem there, no breakage. The only real complain i have is that when I tried to reorder them, price went from $16 to $65. I think i'm going to have to find another supplier otherwise I would stick with it.
