Let’s just say that nothing beats a good pair of banks. These suckers zip you up and hold you in. No problem with rolling down you just have to hitch it up high enough. I am 5’8” and 155 pounds and I ordered the small, sucks it all in. 100% worth the cost instead of buying the cheap kind that maybe hold you for five or 10 minutes and then Sag and roll down.

As a longtime patron of the Spanx brand, I can’t help but observe that they have come a long way from the shapewear they were originally hawking. This shaper is evidence of such. The material is strong and thick in order to maximize smoothing and support. This thing was made for performance over comfort, and when you get over the fact that you once more find yourself squashed into a girdle and unable to fully expand your lungs, the shaping is undeniable. However, as many shapers that came before, this is not ideal for longer torsos. While it does define the waistline, all of that extra flesh manifests in the form of what I lovingly refer to as back fat. I am 5’9 and recently postpartum, so I will admit that my torso has a bit more squish and extra skin than the average lady. But the thick, tight band around the top of this piece does no favors. It’s just not a good look for me at this time, although I will say the material around the thong is thin enough to truly erase panty lines. In terms of value, if this works for you and makes you feel confident, it is absolutely worth it. The craftsmanship is definitely there, but for me— I will keep looking for that perfect piece of shapewear.

I have been wearing shape wear routinely since my son was born over a decade ago. I wear some sort of shaper almost every day as I find mild compression on my stomach to actually be comfortable and like that it helps me maintain a healthier posture since I’m getting old enough to start caring about such things! I will admit that over the past few years I’ve deviated from Spanx brand, and while I’ve found a few from other brands that were quite good, there were many that were awful, and not ONE non-Spanx shaper had this high quality for anywhere near the current $48 asking price. I truly can’t get over how wonderful this shaper is and that it’s not well over $100 — I see now that you really can’t do better than Spanx! This is what I’d consider a medium intensity shaper: it holds you in and makes you appear a bit slimmer and certainly completely smoothed out in the waist area, but it’s not corset-level nor is it light coverage. I ordered size Large and I’m 5’7” and around 167 lbs and my waist/mom pooch is definitely my “problem area”! Once I had this thing on correctly I was amazed at how it fit like the most natural second skin: this Spanx shaper is thin in a very good way. It’s my perfect coverage level: enough that my waist is held in, but not at all binding or uncomfortable. Helpful hint: if it’s bunching up at all at the crotch, you probably don’t have it pulled up all the way! When it’s on correctly the top should lay directly below your bra/bust. For me it fits perfectly, no issues at all with bunching of fabric or the ends coming up or down like other shapers will often do. If you’re having any of these issues, make sure it’s all the way on, if it is, you may need a different size. I am usually a size L in pants and I always order my shape wear in size L as well and it can be a tight fit at first while pulling them on but it’s usually the right size for me. If you’re stuck between two sizes, I’d recommend trying the larger first so long as you’re able to exchange it if needed. I hope this review is helpful! :)

This is an easy 5 stars for me. I ordered a size Large and I’m a women’s US 10/12, and the fit is perfect. It snatches my waist and flattens my stomach without feeling uncomfortable or overly tight. You definitely feel supported, but not squeezed. I wore this to my bridal dress try-on and it was flawless. No lines at all, everything looked smooth and seamless under fitted gowns. The high waist stayed exactly where it should, and the grippy waistband really works without rolling or slipping, even after moving around a lot. What really stands out is the value for money. For the quality, comfort, and results, this is honestly the best you can get. I’ve tried other shapewear, and nothing compares at this price point. SPANX absolutely delivers here.

Ripped the first time I put them on as the material was too thin

I wore this high-waisted thong for a full day under a form-fitting dress, and honestly—I was impressed. Definitely holds everything in place. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to last the night in it though. Definitely going to have to wear it around the house and get used to a full coverage one. But their fabric is nice and doesn’t feel bad I’m just going to need to get use to the squeeze in places I don’t typically wear compression. It does definitely slim down my mommy areas though. So I think it’ll be a hit on date night.
