This product is as described. Packaged very well by seller. The box it came in was twice it's size and stuffed with packing material. The chess mat is much thicker and heavier than I anticipated, which is great! It is off white, almost grey looking and dark navy blue squares and lettering. It rolls easily and fits nicely in the bag. I was worried the corners would roll up after taking it out of the bag to play it, but it lays perfectly flat! The pieces are the size of my palm and good quality. They have green felt on the bottom of the pieces which is appreciated with children playing. The pieces come in two seperate Ziploc esc bags that fit easily down the tube when it's bagged. The bag is a blue canvas nylon type material with a sturdy adjustable carrying strap. There is a zipper at one end in a circular shape that is of good quality. Overall I am very pleased with our purchase! Worth every penny and now we can take our chess board with us when we travel, it's always nice to have something to do after a long day traveling once we get to the hotel that doesnt involve screens! This is a very nice chess set. It has a rollable thick tournament style board. The board is labled for algebraic chess notation making it easy for new chess players to record their games properly. The pieces are heavy plastic with felt on the bottoms and it includes extra queens. They are nice quality single-weighted pieces. The bag is a nice feature that holds all of the pieces as well as the board when rolled. It makes it easy to take with you. Overall, this is a great chess set especially for new chess players and it is a great value for the cost.

Good chess set. I have a wooden one, but it's quite large and I wanted something I could bring to work or have at home for the kitchen in case you spill something or what have you, and this is great. It's very portable, the board stays nice and flat, the pieces aren't too heavy, but they still have enough weight to them to now be knocked over if you sneeze haha. The navy blue and ivory are really nice together, lots of people like the standard green and white but the blue is more appealing to me. Either way, it's a great portable chess set. As other reviewers have said, it does smell like vinyl, kind of strong, but it doesn't bother me much, I don't mind the smell, but some people do. I am sure it will go away in time, so don't fret! Get one, chess is a great game, regardless if you win or loss, it provides hours of fun.

Pro: Great set! The size is a bit larger than the normal sets you can buy at the toy store. The pieces are not too heavy but heavy enough to not get blown over if you play it outside when it is windy. The extra queens make the game so much more fun to play. I bought this set because my son learned to play chess at NYC Central Park (they have sets like these in the Chess House) and this brings back great memories and portable, too! Con: It is smelled of plastic when you first open it so air it out for a day before playing.

I bought this set 5 years ago and it's still kicking. My board did arrive with a yellow stain, but it wasn't too bad to make me return it so I kept it. It's practical with everything being able to fit in the bag and is pretty durable. The board is a good size with a good square to piece ratio and the pieces have a good weight to them, which comes in handy when playing outside. I did break some of the "tower" ends on one my white rook, but that was from keeping the board in my trunk. Overall, I think it's a good buy.

This chess set is everything I wanted! The pieces are weighted correctly, the vinyl board is easy to pack and unpack, the carrying case works good, and the price is definitely right. Don't waste your money on an expensive chess set (unless you want it for decoration or something). You can't beat the functionality of this set. Also, from what I can tell, the pieces are sturdy. I've taken this set back and forth between my college and home multiple times and used them multiple times. I've even thrown the set around a bit more than I should have, and they're still in good shape. So, if you're not abusing them like some type of out-of-control ape, they should last quite a while.

It’s a good standard chess set but with pink and white squares. It’s USCF tournament dimensions whose size conforms to tournament policy, but keep in mind the colors may technically be nonstandard - I’ve never had my opponents complain however. I’ve replaced the chess pieces with a triple weighted pink and white set, but the pieces included are just fine.

Love this chess set. The pieces are large and easy to handle. Weight is good. Not too heavy, not too light. Board rolls up easily and everything fits into the archer bag. Would totally recommend any of the sets from wholesale chess.

This set is the perfect standard set. The bag it comes in is standard quality, no branding on the outside and fits the set nicely. The pieces are nice size and shapes and have a bit of weight to them though I wouldn't call them weighted. The board/mat is also good. A bit of a production smell from being brand new but it slowly loses it over time. Originally I was looking at expensive alternatives for a tournament style chess set. I looked at Silicone mats instead of vinyl and triple weighted pieces. The price would have added up significantly and added with a ridiculous shipping cost probably coming out of the USA. This set is perfect for a Canadian buyer with amazon prime account. It beats any wooden or glass chess set as it's visually easier to read. The green chess mat is said to be the least stressful color for the eyes. And the pieces are the perfect size to grab and not fumble. I recommend this set for teaching friends/family how to play chess and I also recommend this to long time fans of chess who want a reliable set.
