I have thought about getting a mini machine for a while now. I belong to a quilt guild, and we often have sewing sessions and classes that require a machine. My "regular" full-size machine is difficult to transport. This mini will be perfect. It came in its own box, including a handle on top. There was Styrofoam inside to stabilize the machine and other contents. Box dimensions: 12.5" wide, 10.5" tall, 6" deep. It arrived in good shape so I think I will be able to use that box when I take this machine to work on projects away from home. I have set the machine up and done a few test stitches. The machine arrived threaded, and with a piece of fabric under the presser foot. I added a few stitches to the test fabric. The machine works smoothly although I will need to get used to the on/off control. There are two ways to use the machine: plug it in and use the foot pedal (very, very small) or plug it in and use the ON switch at the front of the machine. Using the second option immediately starts the machine and provides two different stitching speeds. I will need to get used to the switch because the foot pedal, to me, is too small. My challenge will be to not immediately have both hands on the fabric when I begin stitching. It shouldn’t be a problem. Other features: There is a small but effective light just above the presser foot. There is a very small drawer at the bottom back of the machine. By "back" I mean on the right side under the handwheel. Though small, the drawer is big enough to hold basic supplies: a couple of bobbins and spools of thread. ... Everything is "small." ... The machine itself comes with thread and a bobbin pre-installed. There are two additional bobbins and spools of thread with the machine. There is also a "threader," which is nothing more than a tool that is used to thread sewing needles, but it works. The additional case of supplies includes 16 each of small spools of thread and filled bobbins. It is interesting that the colors on the two sets (thread and bobbins) don't match. Importantly, the case also includes five extra machine needles along with various other useful items. Effectively, everything needed to get started is included. The manual is useful. As far as I can tell, though small, it has all the necessary information along with clear drawings. I feel that this little machine, complete with accessories, is a great value for the money.

It’s perfect for small quilting projects or simple mending, but you’ll want to stick to lighter woven fabrics. Pros: Versatility: 16 stitches is plenty for a beginner to stay engaged. Dual Power: Can be operated by the button or the foot pedal. Complete Kit: The included accessories make it a great "all-in-one" gift. Cons to Consider: Build Material: The ABS plastic body feels a bit thin/cheap. It arrived with some minor scuffs, and the overall construction reflects the $70 price point. The Foot Pedal: The pedal is very lightweight and tended to slide around on our hardwood floors during use. We ended up putting a non-slip mat under it. Storage: While it has a tiny built-in storage compartment, a dedicated carrying bag would have been a great addition to keep the 32 threads organized. Bottom Line: If you are looking for a "trial" machine to see if a child’s interest in sewing will stick, this is a solid value. I'm in love with this little sewing machine! Let me begin by saying I have very little sewing experience. My mom was a wonderful seamstress and wanted to teach me, but I wasn't even a little interested. Big mistake. That being said, I recently tried my hand out with a little handheld machine, which has proven to be very useful for quick mending, and using that made me want to try with a "real" sewing machine. This little gem has been just the thing! Setup was quick and easy, as the instructions are clear and easy to understand. First win. The size of the machine itself is just right for me, as I don't intend to leave it out all the time and this is easy to tuck away when not in use. Win #2. The sewing machine offers a bunch (16!) stitch options, which should be more than sufficient, and handles assorted fabric weights with ease (win #3!). It hums along nicely when in use, rather than being loud (that's 4). Finally, I can sew! I have used the machine a half-dozen times now (made the cutest little make-up bags and one drawstring purse) and it works perfectly -- easy to thread and easy to make nice straight lines that look like an actual adult did it (I'm 64). Five wins = five big sparkly stars! I'm having so much fun with this. I should have listened to my mom and learned decades ago. I will be recommending this affordable little sewing machine to everyone who will listen!
