Bargain, bargain, bargain... Just the ticket to give your WAP or 4GLTE modem a kick in the butt for more signal!
Crazy mad bargain for a few bucks, to get an antenna that actually does help 4G and Wifi reception, shipped. A very simple antenna, you screw it in and choose the "EXT" position on a switch. Your signal pops up. Maybe not tons, but this isn't a high-end $40 antenna. It LOOKS like a colinear vertical, and it may actually be. It is DEFINITELY directional to whatever is truly broadside, perpendicular to the whip. So you aim the thing to be parallel to the source tower or hotspot. This has the advantage of rejection of noise (and signal) above and below, so there are deep nulls in reception at either "point" of the whip. It works, it's cheap and while it may not be luxurious in materials, this may be the best $3 you can spend on your 4GLTE modem or hotspot/WAP. $3... seriously!

Works Well in 3-Floor House and Garage
I had the top-of-the-line Belkin N900 Dual-Band Wireless Router and a standard modem, and it worked awesome. Until I had upgraded my internet service and was given a new modem, which is a wireless modem router similar to this one Actiontec V1000H Wireless Router - IEEE 802.11n (draft) by CenturyLink. Even though CenturyLink said my Belkin was compatible, I had issues with my internet devices (laptops, tablets, phones) not getting data from the Belkin. So I had disconnected the Belkin and just simply used the wireless modem router, which worked just a good, minus the reception. The antennas wasn't as good as the Belkin's built-in antennas, which previously covered my 2100 sq-ft, 3-floor home, plus outside to my detached garage, and front yard. So I did some research and found this antenna. All you have to do is unscrew the existing antennas off the wireless modem router, and replace them with this one. I suggest to buy two of these, because one is adequate, but two will slightly increase the range. Now, with these antennas and just the wireless modem router, I can use my laptop or tablet and get the same coverage as before.

Lower signal strength than stock 3", 2 dBi antenna
This antenna actually performed a little worse than the stock antenna that came with my USRobotics wireless router. Using WirelessMon, I averaged 26% to 28% signal strength (-68 dBm to -69 dBm) using this massive 14" antenna which claims to have 10 dBi gain. With the same scenario, I averaged 36 to 42% signal strength (-56 to -61 dBm) using my stock 3" antenna which claims to have 2 dBi gain. My range also seemed greater using my stock antenna. I was expecting some wireless performance improvement based on the claims in the description of this product, but ended up wasting my time and had at lest 10% better signal strength using my original antenna over this one. The antenna also will not stay vertical when using the 90 degree elbow near the SMA connector. No matter how tight you have it fastened, the swivel at the connector is too loose, and the antenna wants to swivel down to horizontal until it can rest on something. Look into other, more solid ways to improve range and signal strength like using a repeater.

8-10 dbi Fantastic bump in strength for centurylink modem
recently had to replace our previous version centurylink aka qwest modem/router with a new version. the old one unlike all others i have used had no external antenna, so i was basically stuck. however the new one had not one but two external antennas so i could 'upgrade' the antennas. the modem/router was not listed but the antenna connectors, 9 times out of ten are the same. so i gave this a shot and it worked! i ordered two of these a great bargain. simple to unscrew the old and screw these in place. they flex and bend, turn as they should. most important in regards to performance they do as advertised and bumped up my WiFi by 8-10 dbi on average. i used two apps to measure and both gave the same readings. i tested both with the old stock antennas and these new ones for comparison. such a small price to get an substantial boost in WiFi signal strength, they are great! Update - one minor glitch and it was partly my fault. the antenna where it swivels at the base, there it snaps in place. somehow i put too much pressure on it and it popped out the grooves that hold it in place. i could not get it back in regardless. be aware that is a weak spot in the design so be 'gentle' so to speak.

Excellent Value + Big Improvement
My home network consists of one hardwired desktop and 3 wireless computers (2 laptops, 1 desktop). The wireless desktop was extremely sluggish and the internet connection routinely dropped. I added this antenna to the wireless router and the speed increased instantly. Dropped connections have reduced quite a bit. Its still not quite as fast and the laptops or the hardwired desktop, but its an improvement that was worth the expense. In fact, given how much better my connection is, I'd pay 3 x as much for this antenna. Its really tall, so its going to look ridiculous coming out of your router. lol My last and most important comment - I didn't leave it on the vendor's page, because I know merchants can be very vindictive with the rating system, but a week after I bought this antenna my bank placed a fraud alert on my VISA card. The bank said the only transaction that could have created it was this one. I've never had problems with this vendor before, but it could be that an employee is accessing accounts or someone has hacked into their electronic records. So be forewarned.

Works but have not exp'd better results w/o amp.
Average signal capabilities... Have much better transmission with Alfa 7dB directional and Alfa 5dB omni stock antenna compared to this one. I understand 9dB antennas have a more slender cross section but i have not found them to be much of an increase unless using an amp. For the price, its worth having around. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to make stand but its possible to do. Just need a little patience.

Pleasantly Surprised
I have bought a dozen cheap antennas like this over the years, and they all sucked until I took them apart, measured them, and corrected them so they tuned correctly. Most of these are copies of copies made by people who don't know anything about radio. I took this one apart first thing, but when I measured it out, I was in complete agreement with it, and left it alone. And it works as advertized. which is a first. I have never bought one that just worked like it should, as arrived, before this one. In case you don't know, the length of an antenna must be perportional to the length of the radio wave, it's critical. This is how an antenna is "tuned".

Inproved my D-Link Vonage , It really works!
I had bought a d link antenna for about $40 trying to match the brand of my router, it did not improve at all the range of my router. After the first piece of crap (d-link antenna) broke, I needed one urgent and this one did a great job, the signal was better than the d-link and the original one, it turned up the signal on my cell phone from none/very low to actually low-medium and my laptop did even better. I wasn't really confident because at this price, normally all products are crap, but this one impressed me because of the big improvement I'm my home network. The only thing I'd like this to have is a cable to put it in a better position, but I guess that It would have a cable the signal would not be the same. Overall I'm very happy with the signal gain I got!

Señal peefecta
Tiene buena señal , cuando trabaje en casa del segundo piso me conecta al 5g y te da los megas como si estuvieras cerca del módem que está en planta baja. La velocidad es de 300mb con TP.

Works with minimal fuss
We used to have problems with the neighbour's signal but now overwhelm him in our house and the kids have stopped complaining about the quality of the connection. All I had to do was turn off the modem, unscrew the existing antenna and screw this one in. I turned the modem back on and I was done. It saved me the trouble and expense of getting a range extender. All I can do now is hope my neighbours don't find out about this antenna!
