Amazing
Took a chance after seeing how much muscle mass my senior dog was losing in his rear legs and hips. He was struggling getting up and down stairs about three months ago and i’ve gotten him started on this with just sprinkling it on top of his food with all his other toppings and the taste doesn’t seem to bother him. i’ve noticed an insane increase of muscle mass and a huge difference in his mobility with stairs and also just jumping up when I get home. definitely worth the price.

Very good support for older dogs with muscle weakness
This product is amazing! My older Old English sheepdog had weakness in his hind legs in addition to some osteoarthritis. I found this by accident and read the reviews so I started him on it. After two months on it my Vet was amazed at how much better he was (I'm not talking about jumping fences or running for miles but there was a significant improvement in his mobility and ability with his hind legs). My vet had never heard about it before but he started recommending it to other dog owners. Bear lived comfortably for another two years. It's definitely worth a try.

Definately works to regain muscle loss due to age/injuries. Noticed difference at 2 months.
I honestly didn't think this product would work and wondered how could fertilized age make a difference. The first month I saw little change but decided to give it another month before making a determination of the efficacy. At 1.75 months I thought I noticed a change in my dog's (Diesel) muscles. She has gotten bony in the hind end and along her lower spine. She has been having shakes or tremors in the back legs which had slowly gotten worse over several years. It effected how she ran, stood, etc. People always thought the shakes were from fear which was not the case. I thought she might have some spinal issue so took her to a Chiropractor that works on dogs. The Dr. adjusted her in a number of places along the spine and her tremors lessened a little. I started the supplement right after Diesel's first visit to the Chiropractor. At her second month visit the Dr noticed, as I had, that she appeared to have regained muscle in her back legs and along her spine. I told the Dr that I too thought I had noticed a change and she was regaining her strong, "beast-like" former strength but was afraid of just being hopeful. The Dr said that I was not imagining a change and that she too noticed a difference in Diesel's back leg muscle and muscles along the spine. Diesel just was not as bony as before. I gave the supplement at about 75% of what was recommended (3 scoops v. 4 scoops) due to it's expense. Even at this slightly lower dosage Diesel still gained enough muscle for both me and the Dr to notice a substantial difference. Now at three months of use Diesel has gained several pounds, the majority of which is muscle and not fat. Some other supplements have so much fat in them that the dogs will gain fat v. muscle. That is not the case with this supplement. Diesel lumbers when running when she gains a few pounds of fat so I know muscle was added as her performance has improved even thought the scale shows a 3 lb gain. I attempt to kept her weight at 62 or 63 lbs. Lean dogs live longer and healthier lives. One does need to adjust the food proportions the account for the added calories of the supplement so as to assure any weight gain is muscle and not added fat. But I am so please with the muscle gain in my nearly 10 yo dog that I am starting my 8 year old on it too. The younger dog, Quinn, doesn't yet show any muscle loss but I decided to start her on this supplement as a preventative (at a lower dosage) since nearly all older dogs loose muscle mass especially in the hind end . This causes difficulties in walking, running and rising up off the ground. Then they become weaker and weaker. Yes, it is damn expensive stuff but it is the ONLY supplement I have tried, and I have tried a number of the common brand, that has actually done what it says it will do. I have not studied or asked the company if this is a life-time supplement or not. Afraid if I stop now that Diesel has regained muscle mass she previously lost that were I to stop she might loose it again. I would highly recommend this supplement and just ordered my 4th month container. Be patient and give it at least two months before deciding whether it is worth it or not to continue. IMO it works. I wish I had taken some comparative photos. The attached photo is at the start of supplementation. If one looks closely one can see her leg muscles are not a pronounced as they should be. However, the best way to tell is to just feel the muscles when you start and at the end of each month of supplementation.

Jury's still out on this product... 3.5-4 Stars at this point...
** Jan. Update Cont. ** Raised to 4 stars for the incredible customer service we've received from MYOS. With their support, we are continuing the Fortetropin & hoping for quality of life improvement. We are not in the market for creating an immortal dog. Unfortunately, they just do not stay with us long enough. Our primary goal is comfort through the aging process, and mobility. We do not have a definitive diagnosis on what's causing the muscle loss in his legs (primarily back legs, and front legs but to a lesser degree). My gut tells me that this product provides significant support to dogs convalescing from surgery or illness - and I would encourage you to give this product a try! For chronic illness/disease - I think the most rational goal to aim for is comfort and slowing down decline. This is what we're hoping for, and I'll continue to update. Our thanks to MYOS for helping us continue w/this product & their great customer service. Tip: I've found it mixes best with canned food that has NO gravy or liquid. It has a course parmesan-cheese consistancy/texture, and mixes better with a "pate" style dog food. It has no flavor or aroma - and our dog has no sense that it's in his food (or else he'd turn his nose up at it). If your dog is on kibble - add warm water to the food to soften (plus dogs just like it, and hydration is so important) - then sprinkle on top. I've also taken a high flavor canned food (for fun, not part of his regular diet), combined a spoonful with the fortetropin, and created meatballs (when he was on a prescription food that was somewhat soupy). *January Update* - we were unsure of whether or not to keep going, but will continue with Fortetropin - and stay hopeful that we can see more significant improvement. I want to report that one important thing to note is that our dog has not declined since being on this product. Improvement, so far, as been slight. As we continue with Fortetropin, I plan to get our veterinarian involved to help document any changes at this point, and will share the results here. I see so many people reviewing this product with the same hope that we have - and I think sharing our results is so important. I continue to recommend that people at least try this product - as it could just be that certain conditions will respond better than others. Stay hopeful! :) Just completed our first container of this product. My 12 yr old collie has had declining muscle control in his back legs for the past few years that has come to a point where support (nutritional, medication, supplement, etc) is required. He has not been diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy at this point, and we suspect it has more to do with a spinal condition. That said, the atrophy is significant, especially surprising in his front legs (given they're providing much of the support for his body at this time). Pros: It didn't cause stomach upset, it was easy to administer/mix into food, and there could be a slight amount of increase in muscle mass, but it is VERY slight. Cons: Extremely expensive. I don't think it was a waste of time or money to try this - and I would encourage people to give it a go (it can't hurt). In our case, however, the improvement was not so notable that I am clamoring to buy the 2nd container. Still contemplating it at this stage. I will continue to update. I would rate it 3 1/2 stars at this point, but will change this rating if we see more noticeable improvement.

Great product
I bought this for my senior dog who had sudden weight loss. We could not figure out what had drastically changed. After reading some reviews I decided she is well worth the expense. I started her on this product mixed in with homemade chicken and brown rice. She loves the stuff. It took a little time for her to bounce back and had us worried but, after about 2 months we saw a difference. We weighed her every month at the vet and she slowly got back to a healthy weight. She has been on myos for about 5-6 months now and she looks great. She loves the taste and almost demands the stuff. With a combination of this product and some others I found here on Amazon ( camallena oil) I really love how much healthier she looks and feels. She gets around better than before and is just overall much happier. I really think the kibble we were giving her had an ingredient change and it really made her sick. You really have to be observant of what these dog food companies do. Such a shame that better care is not demanded in quality control. At any rate if your pup needs to put some weight back on, give this stuff a try. It worked for me but, you need to be patient and give it time to work. I keep mine in the fridge and it stays fresh for the whole month. This is a win/win for our girl.

Works well for my dog for muscle loss
This product actually seems to be working for my 17 year old dog who was losing weight due to muscle loss in the back half of his body.

Likely effective, but caused pancreatitis.
My vet recommended for our elderly Yorkie. I should have checked for possible effects aside from building muscle. It has very high fat content. She developed pancreatitis within a few days of starting, even at a much reduced dose.

Great Muscle Support for Dogs
My agility trainer recommended this supplement for my dog to support muscle health. I plan to feed the rest of her life.

It's helping my elderly dog - excellent supplement.
My 14.5y.o has osteoarthrosis and whilst he takes a range of joint care supplements, because his exercise is now not as extensive as it once was - his leg muscles aren't as strong these days. A month of being given two scoops of Myos daily, easily mixed in with his food, I can certainly see the benefit and will continue to administer it. It is a little costly due to being imported to the UK, but for us worth it.

Miracle supplement
Our dog has muscle wasting due to steroids for an autoimmune disease, she couldn’t handle stairs, jump into the car, get on the bed and she was looking scrawny in her back end. This was recommended by our vet and what an amazing turn around! Our beautiful old girl now has a little meat on her bones, strength is much better and poops are the best they’ve been her whole life! This is a miracle supplement. Thank you so much for giving my dog a few years of quality life.

Helping my 12 year old dog
My 12 year old dog (Great Dane / American Bulldog cross) has been losing muscle mass in his hind legs. He has been having trouble getting up and down stairs, and his walks have had to be shortened. Found this muscle supplement and decided to give it a try. Was concerned he wouldn't eat it, as he was always difficult to get him to consume pills, powders, etc. when prescribed by a vet. No problem with MYOS Canine Muscle formula. He lacks it right out of cannister. I know his muscles will never improve due to aging, but he is going up and down the stairs to the basement again, and he can walk for 20-30 minutes longer after taking the supplement for two weeks. Very happy with the product, and reccomend it for anyone experiencing muscle mass deterioration in their dog, due to aging.

Excellent Product. Buying Again Definitely
We used MYOS muscle supplement for our dog after a recent injury when he was having difficulty walking, getting up on his own and climbing stairs because of weak muscles. After using it regularly, we noticed a very good improvement in his strength and mobility. He is now able to get up more comfortably and move around much better. The product quality is excellent and our dog had no side effects at all. Very happy with the results and would definitely recommend it. We will be buying the bigger pack next.

It Works for my woof!
Do not usually rate supplements but I’ve got to admit my 14 year old springador has certainly perked up on his woofie walks and the doggy physio has noticed improved muscle around his legs.
