SD to USB transfers or a simple DIY USB Stick
Problem: PCs these days don't usually have MicroSD readers and I needed one because I own phones and tablets. When I want to transfer gigs of pictures/videos to my PC this card reader does that easily and quickly. Speed: I bought this because its USB 3.0 which means I should get 500MB/s. When used with a C10 or U1 MicroSD that only does 100MB/s the card itself is the bottleneck. Even a U3 is 300MB/s peak transfer and a high quality V## MicroSD are the exact same UHS2 300MB/s speeds and means this device is somewhat futureproof for a while. Capacity: ZERO! On the user. I bought a 256GB U3 MicroSD card for less than 20$ to leave in it. Intended use vs actual use: Wanted it so I could transfer files easily but that's not that often. Practical use, I installed CallOfDuty and its 200+GB on the card and run my game off the chip now. I feel like it loads MW3 faster and is a bit smoother. Less than 30$ I kinda unintentionally got a setup that helped my gaming by freeing up space and improving my performance while still allowing me to transfer files from portable devices when I need to. Perfect for what it does and I'd buy another one if I ever need to. Parts are durable and its compact so I doubt it will break since there's nothing really to break. It's nice solid hardware and a great value for the price.

Works great. Good quality. Keep in car with dash cam.
Works great with the MicroSD card. I keep this in my car for quick use with my dash cam MicroSD card in case I ever need to quickly provide evidence to a police officer of an incident recorded with my dash cam.

Perfect USB microSD Reader for Tesla Model S.
I bought the SanDisk MobileMate USB 3.0 microSD Card Reader to use with a 256GB SanDisk High Endurance microSD card in my Tesla Model S — and it works perfectly! The Tesla instantly recognizes the reader when it's plugged into the front USB port, and both Dashcam and Sentry Mode start recording automatically. No setup hassle, no errors — just simple plug-and-play. The build quality is solid, and transfer speeds are excellent when moving video files to a computer. It’s compact enough to fit neatly in the center console without getting in the way, and it doesn’t overheat even after hours of continuous use. If you're setting up Dashcam or Sentry Mode on your Tesla and prefer using a microSD card setup (which is more reliable than USB flash drives), this reader is exactly what you need. Super reliable, fast, and affordable. Highly recommended!

SanDisk MobileMate USB 3.0 microSD Card Reader - SDDR-B531-GN6NN
First off, it is very difficult to remove the microSD card from the reader if you have short nails. I would recommend putting a piece of (gaffer) tape on the card before inserting, to help with card removal. I am doing an informal test of this reader using a "SanDisk 128GB Extreme microSD UHS-I Card with Adapter - U3 A2 - SDSQXA1-128G-GN6MA" card. I compared this reader with a microSD to SD adapter in a "Lexar Professional USB 3.0 Dual-Slot Reader - LRW400CRBNA". Per H2testw, the Lexar combo achieved 88 MB/s read and 81 MB/s write, and the Sandisk reader achieved 152 MB/s read and 75 MB/s write. This is writing and reading 1.0 GB test files to the card. In Crystalmark, the Lexar combo achieved 94 MB/s sequential read and 83 MB/s sequential write, which Sandisk reader achieved 168 MB/s sequential read and 100 MB/s sequential write. If you look at the rest of the tests (random read/write), the Lexar combo is about 50% faster. Overall, for larger files, this reader is roughly 40% faster than using a microSD to SD adapter and regular SD card reader. To copy the contents of a 128GB card (that is advertised to work with it), that means cutting the time from 23 minutes to 13 minutes. However, it does not appear to perform well in other use cases (unverified). Another disadvantage: This USB reader does not fit in the same footprint as a SD card, so it does not store well in my memory wallet. Plus, it does not act as a 'backup' SD card. My intent was to bring this item on travels to quickly unload files, however I think I would rather purchase more memory cards and leave this reader at home. I am not sure if I would purchase this item again or would recommend it, however it does fit into my workflow of removing large files from the Sandisk microSD cards.

Worked where a cheaper one didn't.
This adapter worked fine in my new Dell 16" laptop. A 256GB Sandisk Micro SD card is easily read and written to. It's a bit larger than the cheaper one I bought but it works.

Excellence!
I'm always amazed that Amazon can ship this tiny item so quickly. It did its job as I fully well expected it would, so I didn't have to do be disappointed like I sometimes am by others. Thanks Amazon!

well made - no issues - good to have on hand for those who use micro-SD cards
SanDisk MobileMate USB 3.0 microSD Card Reader- SDDR-B531-GN6NN: Bought for use on a new HP laptop that inexplicably doesn't have a built-in card reader slot. Works well with snug fits for the micro-SD card and USB A port. Highly recommended. Small, don't lose track of it.

Used, like New, but completely defective!
I purchased this small SanDisk microSD reader in used, like new condition, thinking that it had been tested. I tried it with 3 different microSD cards, all of which function perfectly in my larger microSD card reader. It failed to work in my desktop, even though I tested it in several different USB ports. In addition, the cards did not seat tightly in the reader, as if something thicker than a card had been jammed into the slot making it too wide. I would recommend avoiding this product in used condition. I returned it.

It's a memory card reader all right, with decent USB 2.0 speeds. Only thing I want to add is that if it doesn't seem to recognise the inserted card, you might want to push it harder inside, as there's no latching mechanism.
