I wanted a latex bed for my back and shoulder pain. alas, latex beds are out of my budget so i opted to buy the two inch topper to put on my "crappy" bed" Ive tried so many different toppers over the last 6 months, a coworker recommended plush beds so a last effort to not wake up feeling like I'm 80 years old I started researching. I sleep on my stomach so went with the medium firm. I weigh 120lbs I have a super sensitive nose and could smell a faint smell (the first day) but not a chemical smell and it was not offensive and was gone rather quickly. After the first night I woke up not in nearly as much pain and actually only woke up twice in the night unlike the normal 5 or 6 times. the second night I woke up once ! yippee for me. Its hard to explain how it feels, this is my first latex experience. Honestly until my co worker talked about it I had really never heard of it (I don't stay up on bedding trends) sooooo, how can I explain it (if you have never slept on it) I would say it is hard and soft at the same time. I jumped up on it, it felt hard, I laid down and relaxed it felt soft. when I laid on my back, it was amazing, it supported the small of my back but did not create pressure elsewhere. I sleep on my stomach and that works fine for me but now am going to try to retrain to sleep on my back since it is so comfy. I absolutely hated memory foam , it was almost panic being trapped in it and I was afraid this would be similar. It is not. I am so thrilled and love it ! Im not gonna say I spring out of bed like an eight year old but I don't crawl out of bed like an 80 year old waiting for all the stiffness to disappear. The only real problem with the topper is now I want the whole bed. Maybe in a few years santa will bring me one :)
