This stuff definitely works as intended! Despite some of the negative reviews here, the stuff works like they say. I always assume that it's people that didn't do the research enough and just jumped into the project blind. You want to do it in small batches and not mix up the full pint right away. You have 5 minutes from the time that you put two the a and the B together to stir it and put it on the face. It will start to set up after that and it'll be really hard to move around. One thing I found tonight while doing making this mold is that I shouldn't have been talking. Because parts lifted up off of my skin making the next layer not adhere seamlessly. Simple mistake to fix next time. I noticed that the blue material was a lot thicker than the yellow, but when mixed together it was like a a melty frosting texture. One thing I thought was weird that the blue material was in the yellow container and the yellow material was in the blue container. Not a big deal. I just thought it was kind of funny. I'd say with all the batches and the plaster bandages all in all it took us about an hour with just one person applying the silicone and plaster bandages to me. Though it did not turn out 100% perfect. I am 100% happy with the result considering it's the first attempt, and definitely put some new notes in my notebook for the next time. If you do your research and have a plan before you start so that there's no lag time. It'll get done real quick. I will be purchasing this again.

This is an awesome product if you have at least intermediate level experience with life casting. That being said, with this kit, four hands are better than two. It has a short pot life and de-molds quickly which can prove to be wasteful without a solid plan.

I purchased the Body Double Silk Lifecasting Silicone (Pint Unit) for a molding project, but unfortunately, the material fell way short of expectations due to quality/working time issues. The pot life on this batch was far too short. It set up and dried drastically faster than expected, freezing up before I could even finish applying it. As a result, I was left stuck halfway through my casting, completely ruining the piece and wasting the entire unit. If you are working on anything larger than a very small, quick surface area, be extremely cautious. The working window was nowhere near generous enough to get a smooth, complete application done before it cured. I wouldn't recommend this unit unless you're doing micro-castings or have an extra pair of hands working at lightning speed.

It is a good product but it is expensive and you do have to practice a couple of times to get to know it's properties.

I used this to make a cast of my chest before I got top surgery. I'd tried a different brand of silicone and it was an absolute mess. This is absolutely worth every penny - super easy to apply, comes out consistent. Body casting itself takes some practice but if you want to do it, this is the best material you can use.
