GREAT COLLECTION OF NOSTALGIC TUNES
Even though I have some of these songs on CD or vinyl, it's nice to have them in one collection.I think my favorites from this set would be "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head," "What The World Needs Now" and "Let's Get Together."As other reviewers have stated, it would be nice to have all the songs from the film included in this set. But, I suppose the owners of the publishing rights and or the performance rights wouldn't allow them to be included.BTW, I've never cared much for the film, though the soundtrack is excellent.When all is said and done this is a great set with very good sound quality, all at a fabulous Amazon price.

Awesome Soundtrack
So this is one of my husbands and my favorite soundtracks (we also love the movie). I was racking my brain for what to get my teenage niece for Christmas when I noticed she had a record player and a Fleetwood Mac record. Boom idea formed! Talk with my bro and sister in-law and got her this and a nice super soft tee shirt that had Stevie Nix on it. She loved it!

Der Sound der USA
Vor kurzem sah ich mal wieder Robert Zemeckis wahnwitzig gute Tragikomödie und blieb aus irgendeinem Grund bei den Extras der Blu-ray hängen, die sich nicht weiter mit den Produktionshintergründen oder so befassten, sondern mit den verschiedenen Songs, die Forrest Gump auf seinem Lebensweg begleiten. Und da mir der Sountrack exorbitant gefiel, musste der Soundtrack dringend ins Haus.Und was soll ich sagen? Zwar fehlen Ohrwürmer wie "Hey Joe" (Jimi Hendrix), "Free Bird" (Lynyrd Skynyrd) und alle The-Doors-Titel abseits von "Break On Through", aber dennoch hatte ich viel Vergnügen beim Hören der Scheibe, die schlichtweg, neben den Erinnerungen an diverse Filmszenen, auch einen repräsentativen Querschnitt durch US-Musik der 60er und 70er präsentiert. Meine persönlichen Favoriten sind natürlich "Sweet Home Alabama", "Go Your Own Way" und "On The Road Again", aber auch abseits davon kommt man selten nicht in die Versuchung, irgendwie mitzuwippen. Kurz noch zur Ausgestaltung der CD: Inlay und Booklet sind nicht billig gestaltet, wie es so manchmal bei derartigen Scheiben der Fall ist - auch diesbezüglich macht der Soundtrack eine gute Figur und ich sehe keinen Grund, irgendeinen Stern abzuziehen. In diesem Sinne viel Spaß beim Schwelgen in Erinnerungen an einen der besten Filme der letzten 30 Jahre oder aber auch "nur" beim Genuß guter, abwechslungsreicher und vielfältiger Musik.
