Forrest Gump (1994) is one of the most successful films ever made, winning Tom Hanks his second successive Best Actor Oscar (he won the previous year for Philadelphia ) as well as claiming the Best Picture Oscar and many other awards and nominations, including several for music. A unique fable of American life from the 1950s to the 80s, the film blends comedy, drama, war, romance and groundbreaking special effects into a social and political portrait of the passing years, all seen through the eyes of the intellectually challenged but immensely likeable Forrest Gump. The soundtrack is a double album featuring 31 classic pop tunes plus a suite from Alan Silvestri's rich orchestral music, represented more completely on the companion score album. Opening with Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog", this is a fine anthology of three decades of American music, taking in everything from Joan Baez's "Blowin' In The Wind" to Aretha Franklin's "Respect", The Mammas and The Papas' "California Dreamin'" and Simon & Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson". Here also is Scott McKenzie with "San Francisco", plus Jefferson Airplane, the Supremes, Lynyrd Skynrd and many more. This is a great CD set. The songs bring me back to the days of my youth. Great selection!!

Awesome Soundtrack
So this is one of my husbands and my favorite soundtracks (we also love the movie). I was racking my brain for what to get my teenage niece for Christmas when I noticed she had a record player and a Fleetwood Mac record. Boom idea formed! Talk with my bro and sister in-law and got her this and a nice super soft tee shirt that had Stevie Nix on it. She loved it!

GREAT COLLECTION OF NOSTALGIC TUNES
Even though I have some of these songs on CD or vinyl, it's nice to have them in one collection. I think my favorites from this set would be "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head," "What The World Needs Now" and "Let's Get Together." As other reviewers have stated, it would be nice to have all the songs from the film included in this set. But, I suppose the owners of the publishing rights and or the performance rights wouldn't allow them to be included. BTW, I've never cared much for the film, though the soundtrack is excellent. When all is said and done this is a great set with very good sound quality, all at a fabulous Amazon price.

Great selection and great vinyl
Great album, no warping, no skips. I bought because of the many harder to find songs and it saved me a bunch buying one album to get all of them instead of having to buy a stack of albums.

Awesome
Great variety of music and the pressing is awesome. Sound quality is clear - lows are low and highs are high. Great midrange. These old songs really came to life. This is a terrific soundtrack and definitely worth owning for fans of the movie and the music.

Clássico e indispens'
Apesar de ser um álbum duplo, a capa não é do tipo gatefold. Não que chegue a ser um problema, mas uma capa dupla, daquelas que abrem ao meio, valorizariam o produto ainda mais. A prensagem é muito boa e, para a minha surpresa, o disco chegou sem estar empenado (como já aconteceu com outros discos comprados aqui na Amazon). Vale a pena para quem já é fã do filme, e também para aqueles que não assistiram a esse clássico mas que gostam de boa música.

フォレストガンプの映画を見ていて、次から次へと自分の青春時代に聴いた曲が出てきて、映画にさらに見入ったのを覚えています。このサントラの中にはBeach BoysやBob Dylan、S&Gなど超が付くメジャーなアーティストの曲も含まれますが、半分以上は相当な音楽コレクターでも入手できていない曲だと思います。 最初から順番に聞くと映画のシーンよりもむしろ当時の激動の時代（公民権運動、ケネディ暗殺、ベトナム戦争など）が走馬灯のように連想されます。そういった意味でもお薦めですし、若い人たちに、この頃の音楽へのイントロダクションとして間口を広く開けてくれている稀有なコレクションです。 注：ジェニーがホテルの一室から飛び降りる寸前に思いとどまったシーンに使われたレナードスキナードのフリーバードは収録されていません。また、映画の中で再三出てきたドアーズの曲はBreak On Through一曲のみが収録されています。
