Great product and delivery!
The quality of the product is excellent. Although is not a cheap sprue cutter, it worth every penny you pay for it! And the delivery was great, since according to Amazon info, I would receive it until 2/14 it was delivered 7 days earlier. Great job by Modellbahn Otto Hobbies!!

Works quite well.
I've been building model airplanes for the past couple of years, and used a pair of quality diagonal cutters or a craft knife to remove parts from the plastic sprues. I thought that a "sprue cutter" would not perform any better than what I was using. I was wrong. I finally decided to buy a sprue cutter and see how well it worked. This tool does a much neater job than my diagonal cutters did, and it is easier to use and faster. Because the blades are relatively thin, it fits into places where my diagonal cutters would not. Also, because the tool is a side cutter as opposed to being a compression cutter, it produces a straight cut instead of the pointed cut I usually got with the diagonal cutters. That means less sanding to clean the part where the cut was made. The tool seems to be well engineered and constructed of quality materials. Since this is the first sprue cutter I've used, I can't compare it to other sprue cutters. But I'm quite pleased with this tool, and am happy that I bought it.

Strong and sharp!
These snips are fantastic and make super clean cuts. Drastically reduced the sanding and other post-processing tasks for my models and 3D prints.

Not all Xurons are created equal -- this is the one to have for scale modelers
I had previously used the Xuron 410T for plastic model building and was not at all impressed, but the 2175ET is on an entirely different level: the blades here have a double bevel, which makes them much thinner and sharper than the 410T, but unlike pricey premium cutters like the GodHand, they still feel sturdy and suitable for cutting thick sprue as well as smaller gates. Cuts are clean and exact minimal stress on the sprue, which ultimately means less damage to model parts as they are removed from the runners. While I have a number of different cutters for different jobs, I almost feel like this could do the job of all of them -- it is not going to give quite the delicate, smooth cuts of something like the GodHand, but it looks to be far less fragile and still produces excellent results, and is significantly cheaper. Strongly recommend this one.

Definitely a huge improvement over diagonal cutters
I had been using a cheap diagonal cutter from the local hardware store, and was frustrated by how it was mashing pieces as they were being cut off the sprues. I decided to see what most hobbyists were using. I read a couple reviews that these were just about the best thing out there for the job. I do like trying to support the local game stores, so i took a look at their offerings. The local game store has something similar, but lower quality looking. I decided to bite the bullet and order these up. The cuts are very clean and quick. Because the cutting tip is small, I can get closer to the pieces. The cutting action itself is very smooth, with no pinching or mashing of the parts. With the closer and cleaner cuts, I was able to save a lot of time in the cleanup phase and get into assembly much faster. There's a piece of spring steel built into one of the handles, so the jaws open back up after each cut. This also came with a small piece of clear tubing as a cover for the jaws, and to keep the tool mostly closed when put away. I do think these are a little expensive for cutters, but it looks like everyone else that makes sprue cutters charges the same, or more, so it's the going rate for a good tool. They are definitely worth it, for what I've been doing.

Great cutters!
Great cutters!! They cut through normal sprue plastic very smoothly and cleanly, though no matter how sharp your cutters are I would say never to cut super super close to the part as it can still cause some stress damage. Price might be a little high for some people but the quality of the cut you'll be getting is definitely worth it and it's under $20 so I strongly recommend these for your kits!!!

Xuron Plastic Sprue Cutter pliers
The Xuron plastic sprue cutter is the best pliers that I have used in plastic modeling. It has a very sharp blade with a delicate point for removing those plastic pieces on a sprue that are tight to the frame. I have used one pair of Huron sprue cutters for over ten years without the need for sharpening. The product is extremely well made and fits most adult hands nicely.

I bought these for model Gundam use.
I was recommended these by a friend as I'm just starting to get into model Gundams. I guess these types of clippers or nippers or whatever are better for this kind of cutting than other cutting utensils. 1. They seem to work pretty well. I haven't had any problems using them. 2. The blades are offset which I guess is supposed to provide a flatter cut. That seems kinda cool to me. 3. As long as I take care of them, I feel like these are gonna last a while which is good, be a use real grade Gundam models have tons of things to cut. Cons 1. Unless these things break unexpectedly, I don't think there are any. Maybe other color options? I dunno, you try nitpicking this thing lol. I'm a beginner and these seem legit. Dunno if there are better options but I'll keep using these as long as they work. Good price for them as well.

Perfect for plastic models. Do not use for wire or metal.
I had a fairly expensive set of side cutters for building models before and thought they were great, but decided to give these ones a shot. Night and day difference. These sprue cutters effortlessly slice through even the thickest plastic and leave a solid cut with no squeezed plastic. There is no remaining nub mark and almost no touch-up needed. This should go without saying but these are sprue cutters, not side cutters. Do not buy these to cut wire or metal. They are made specifically to cut plastic runners included in model kits. Cutting wire will ruin the slight offset the cutter head has, which will ruin the perfect finished cut these leave behind on plastic tabs. to cut wire purchase a set of side cutters designed for cutting metal.

Not perfect, but you should have a pair.
I know what you've read because I've read it too, but these cutters aren't perfect. They're just about as close as you could ever possibly get, though, so for that I would recommend them. Just a little more than 410's or other similar products, these come to a small point to get into tight spots and they do cut with an absolute minimum of pressure, meaning much less distortion on small parts. The only potential drawback is for those with small hands. If you have small hands these will not be comfortable.

Best cutter I've ever had
Ever since I dropped my old pair of Xuron's, blunting the tips, I've tried 3-4 different brands. None of them came close to Xuron, this is hands down the best there is!
