Battle of the Ampere
I rated it a 5 star because it was an enjoy able read. Although it is fiction it is believable and I can relate to the characters. I also do not have to worry about sexual content and foul language. That is a real plus for me because most books today that are not geared to young children are filled with those things. I find the book exciting as well as uplifting, because of the loyalty and love the characters have for one another. I didn't find this volume to be as riveting as "Rise of the Elgin" but it was still a good read. I can't wait for the next volume. I think it is a excellent book to read to 9 and 10 year olds and for any one over that age to read for themselves. I think the series is ageless.

great book
Michael Vey 3: Battle of the Ampere The book and series is Great! It is for ages young and us older Folks! great to read with your kids, grand-kids, or a class assignment! I watched an interview with Richard and was very impressed and intrigued about the book series and why he wrote the books! What a great dad to do this for not just his son, but all kids who are bullied and feel less than! I was looking for something to help continue a passion for reading in my g-son (who was almost 9 at the time-he loved me reading to him all his life, so I bought and read the first book Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25! Well I could not put it down (and am in my 50's!) I read it in one day! The following day I told my g-son about the book, brought it to him, and to my great happiness, he LOVED IT!! It took him a few days to read it, between school and homework. He didn't even want to sleep!! It was the fastest he ever read a book of this size. We read a lot of it together, (which I loved!) He, we, thoroughly enjoyed the book, so we couldn't wait for the second book, Michael Vey 2: Rise of the Elgen! uggggh the wait!!! #2 did not disappoint! It again was a fast read for the both of us and we both enjoyed it as well. It had a lot of action and adventure (more than the first) and was thrilling to say the least. The bad thing about a series book is the wait for the next one to come out. The good thing about a series is the next book that comes out, lol! So now the long wait for #3 Michael Vey 3: Battle of the Ampere. #3 was full of adventure, but the first part of the book seemed to draw out a little, maybe because of all the different languages, not really sure why it was slower, but my g-son unfortunately lost interest in it. I was not able to spend as much time with him to read it with him, and there was a lot of life happening to us at the time. I enjoyed the book though and finished it in 2 days instead of one. It was very exciting and thrilling once the story really got going. Now I have been impatiently waiting for #4 Michael Vey 4: Hunt for Jade Dragon which comes out in Sept 14 and I can't wait. It is to take place in China. The trailers really looks good and I am looking forward to the book. I also just found out a few months ago, this will be a series of 7 books. Excited to see where else the books go, but will be so dreading the long waits in between books. Great job Richard Paul Evans. I look forward to reading some of your other books, especially Walking on Water.
