Good for the systems I used it for.
I bought this 13 months ago for a project and itโs still working. Itโs in a system with one 100 watt panel, a 30ah lithium battery, and a small inverter. It powers an emergency call box at a state park. The call box pulls very watts. Last I checked the battery was at 100 %. I have the same scc on a small power box thatโs still working. The lead acid battery sucks though. I think this is a good charger for smaller/less demand systems. If you really need reliable power then get a mppt charger and lithium batteries.

Thank goodness for larger, more secure connection holes!!!
If you bought one of the cheap $10 blue solar panel controllers, and you had a whole lot of trouble getting hands on a gauge of wire small enough to fit in their tiny connectors, and stripped wires 3 times at lease, just to have it all fall out, then THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED. I screwed each wire in, within 10 minutes, no frustrating do-overs or readjustments, or experimenting with duct tapes! I set the battery type manually and was done, as satisfied as can be. Not having a USB or light connections like the cheap blue ones, (I think the brand is Flying Lion btw)... is a bummer, but at this point, I am happy my setup works again! And I can even get a larger gauge wire in there if i wanted! Even the screw was bigger, and required a bigger phillips screw driver (cross size). It clamps down on the cords soooo well!

It works great...
This was the only change I made on my solar system in my rv. I had noticed that the batteries were going dead faster than they use to. I did some testing, nothing wrong with the batteries. The solar charger I had was an older one, but seemed to be working. After some testing I was only getting 1 to 2 amps of charging in full sunlight. I checked all the cables, cleaned the panels, same problem. So, I figured it had to be the controller. I ordered this one and installed it using all the same hookups as the old one. I noticed a big change right off the bat. The old controller said the batteries were fully charged. This one said they were at about 70%. I still have flooded batteries in my system, so 70% is really not even close to what they should be at. On the first camping trip this year, it was colder than normal. One night got down to 31. I ran the furnace all night. Got up in the morning to still having power. With the old controller, the batteries would have been dead in the middle of the night. I also got the bluetooth adapter for this.....love it, very easy to setup and use...

Easy to use
Changing the battery type is as SIMPLE as holding down the button for about 10 seconds and the pressing it to select your battery type as indicated in the chart found in the instruction book. It's literally color coded. Nothing to make a mistake here, connections are all clearly marked. Super simple setup. Charges evenly and keeps voltage steady in all weather. No overheating at all here in the desert. very compact as well. Super happy with this charge controller

Unregulated voltage
Do not buy! I had this hooked up to my new 1000$ lithium battery. I had this connected to a single 100watt panel. I also had a victron solar controller that had a few panels hooked up to it. These solar controllers were operating different solar arrays. Well i check my victron app and it showed my 12volt battery was reaching voltages as high as 18volts. Turned out the renogy controller was letting the solar voltage sometimes go directly to the panel without regulating. Not worth the risk. Buy better quality

Excellent value and quality, great output and convenient size.
No complaints at all so far. Plugged a 160W Kings Folding panel into it, and in late afternoon, Winter sun on the east coast of Australia, angled towards the sun the best I could, I was pulling 7.85A out of this controller which is more than enough to keep my fridge running indefinitely off my lithium battery. Don't let people tell you that an MPPT is superior, because for small panels, there's very little difference in my experience. Excellent controller that I bought as a backup in case my CTEK blows an internal fuse (again) and is totally useless. Build quality is good, hard plastic with an aluminium base plate. The grub screws hold 8AWG cable very well and it won't pull out on their own easily. The LED indicators are very bright and easy to see in sunlight too.

Works very well
Works very well. Excellent quality. I have setup to run LED lights system in a Cabin. Keeps AGM battery charged all year round, through hot summer and cold winter. Itโs a simple rugged design. Flashing light will tell you when battery is charged.

Great little unit.
I brought this as an upgrade from one of the unbranded charger controllers to give me some room to upgrade and as with all the other Renogy kit I've installed it hasn't disappointed. Holds a better charge voltage for longer delivering more amps and handles cloudy cover better than the cheap unit. Worth the money if you're not splashing out on an MPPT.

Simple to use
I bought this charge controller to replace the very cheap and nasty default controller that came with my solar panels. This one works very well. Simple to use, just has solar in and battery out. No load connections, and for my set-up that is perfect as load is directly off the battery. The controller has start, bulk and float charge modes. There is a maintenance mode but that hasn't been activated yet. I also bought the BT01 adapter so I can use the app to monitor it.
