For many believers, the subject of the End Times stirs confusion, apprehension, and dread. No longer! This user-friendly manual answers 101 of the most frequently asked questions about everything from the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, the Antichrist, and Tribulation to the Second Coming and the Millennium. Prophecy expert Mark Hitchcock offers a biblically authoritative resource for understanding God's plan and a reason for peace instead of anxiety about each believer's role in it. โThe End Is Near!โ Or is it? The Antichrist is alive and well today! Or is he? The church is about to be raptured and will certainly escape the tribulation.... right? When it comes to the End Times, thereโs so much confusion. Preachers with elaborate charts share their theories about Revelation and other prophetic books of the Bible. โAh, Babylon stands for the United States ,โ they say. But then other teachers share their theories: โNo, Babylon stands for the Roman Catholic Church, or the European Union, or the literal Babylon rebuilt in Iraq โฆ.โ Would somebody please shoot straight with me? Finally, someone has. Gifted scholar and pastor Mark Hitchcock walks you gently through Bible prophecy in an engaging, user-friendly style. Hitchcockโs careful examination of the topic will leave you feeling informed and balanced in your understanding of events to comeโฆ in our time? Review: Friendly Presentation of Common Bible Prophecy Topics - Mark Hitchcock does a great job providing useful insights into the topic of end times Bible prophecy. The book is exceptionally easy to read, as it breaks the large topic of Bible prophecy into a friendly "Question and Answer" format. The author also does an excellent job of representing different viewpoints on some of the more difficult questions, and then he provides his own opinion with an abundance of scriptural support. His theology is very sound. It agrees with many Bible prophecy experts, some of whom I am lucky enough to call friends. The list would include, but is not limited to, Tim LaHaye, Arnold Fruchtenbaum, David Reagan, Thomas Ice, Grant Jeffrey, and many others. In other words, the author believes Jesus will return before the millennium and literally be on earth for His millennial reign; that God deals with the Church and Israel differently; and that the Rapture will occur before the tribulation. Thus, he believes the Rapture is an imminent event that could happen at any time (as depicted in the Left Behind series co-authored by a mutual friend, Tim LaHaye). Moreover, he notes that we should be watching for end-times events and that Christians should especially pay attention to Israel, because God's Word clearly foretells that Israel will have a prominent role in the end times. On that note, his hermeneutics is in agreement with the belief that scripture should usually be interpreted in a literal sense, as opposed to falsely trying to "allegorize" text when doing so is not necessary and would only expose the interpretation to debate. Dr. D.L. Cooper's explanation of the best way to interpret the Bible is commonly referred to as the Golden Rule of Interpretation: "When the plain sense of scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense; therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning unless the facts of the immediate context, studied in the light of related passages and axiomatic and fundamental truths, indicate clearly otherwise." IN SUMMARY: This book offers solid, credible answers to some very tough, though important, questions about end-times Bible prophecy. It delivers what is says it will: 101 Answers to the Most Asked Questions about the End Times. Jeffrey R. Camino, Author [...] Review: A Book of Clarity - This book is extremely helpful if you want good information concerning End Times doctrine. The author leans more toward Pre-Millenialism, but he handles other views such as Amillenialism and Post-Millenialism with class and maturity. Even if you may not agree with him on everything, the book is written with purely a Bible Student in mind. The author cares mostly about the reader considering what the Bible says. Nothing more, nothing less. Overall, outstanding book.

I enjoy Bible study
I purchased the book as a reference book. Interesting facts. The book of Revelations in the Bible is such a prophetic chapter. This little book shows where to find the scripture in the Bible that is being explained and discussed . I use it side by side. To understand and break it down clearly. I use it as a study guide. Not a story. Very useful no matter how well you know the book of Revelations.

Fascinating summary of end time beliefs
I do not believe in the Rapture or the literal 1000 year reign of Christ on earth, but I was fascinated by this book which concisely describes the various beliefs about the end times currently held in religious traditions that subscribe to dispensationalism. I learned a great deal from the book. Mr. Hitchcock explains everything well. He distinguishes the variations of end time beliefs and provides scriptural sources for these beliefs. It helped me a lot.

Mark Hitchcock provides concise answers to some of the most ...
Mark Hitchcock provides concise answers to some of the most vexing end times questions. Some issues are left vague in scripture, and Hitchcock does not try to provide answers which go beyond the Word. This is a very helpful summary of the end times concepts.

Very Good Reference Book. Doctrinally sound. The author seems to portray the truth in scripures in this book.
I love the fact that you can skip around in this book. The author seems to have covered whatever question might pop into one's mind pertaining to the end times. This is a very good reference book; not a book you would sit down and read from cover to cover. I think it could be very informative also to those who are left behind wondering where the true Christians have gone. Consequently, this book is for now and the future.

A must read
I have read the book of Revelation too many times to count and now after reading this book I finally get it. Love reading Mark Hitchcocks books. Its well written and offers his opinions that you don't have to agree with, love that quality in a writer. If you are interested in understanding the book of Revelation and where we are regarding the end times this is a must read. Jim
