Works as designed!
We have used the Flavorwave 100 times since buying it a month or two ago. It cooks unlike any other appliance in our kitchen. While it may not be as fast a microwave, steaks, veggies, seafood come out in a deliciously "different" way. Sometimes very restaurant quality. It is like having two grill racks and even heat all the way around them. Don't follow any of the cook times in the recipe book - you just need to check on the progress manually every so often and you will learn how long things take. I did find myself utilizing a few of the recipes. Clean-up is super easy too. I did a lot of research before buying and determined that the Flavorwave is a good mixture between build quality and effectiveness cooking. There are Jetstream ovens that apparently cook a bit better/faster, but are also very poor durability wise. Can't go wrong with the Flavorwave!

Flavorwave
This product is excellent. It cooks things faster than the oven and uses much less power. You can also go directly from freezer to Flavorwave. It cooks hamburgers, pork chops and chicken parts very well. Foods dry out less than they do in the oven. Cooking these type of foods is what I mostly use the Flavorwave for. Cleanup is easy as I coat racks and the bowl with Pam beforehand. The bowl is very heavy and women may find it too cumbersome to wash. I usually clean it as the women in my house are not comfortable holding up and washing it out at the same time. Flavor wave is heavy and if you have a large kitchen where you can leave it out on the counter top, this helps by reducing the lifting . This bowl is something that you do not want to drop on the floor. There are many other uses for Flavorwave, but my experience so far is limited to the above.

Great product/poor customer service
I have had my flavorwave for a year now, so I have cooked quite a bit in it. First let me say that I believe it is almost a must have for any kitchen. I think restaurants may be using this thing as fast as it cooks sometimes. What DOESN'T it do well: I have tried baking, It comes out "just okay". I recommend using the oven My attempt to fry with this product has been fail after fail. If someone has been successful let me know, but it does not turn out well. Cook beef: steaks-make sure you have a really good cut or it will be TOUGH, hamburgers-Sure why not, my husband and I are 50/50 on this but give it a try, Ribs- why would you want to do this, Beef Roast - Don't What DOES it do well: Bacon, All sausage, Fries, chicken nuggets, cornish hens, Fish, Pork, shrimp, oven baked bar-b-que chicken etc. Several things you would normally heat up in the microwave such as Pizza (GREAT), leftover Chinese (not the rice), cold fast food french fries come out good. Cooks fast/ Heats up fast Puts that crisp on food that would otherwise come from broiling Easy to clean - At times we put aluminum foil on the bottom of it just to make clean up easier. Good for those who want to cut some fat I cook with this thing so much it has saved on my Gas bill. One of our favorite phrases at home is, "Put it in the Flavorwave". My husband loves it so much that he wants to buy another one in case something happens to this one. Now I will not go that far, but it does work, not as fast as it advertises with some things but it works. Frozen right out of the freezer. Once you cook bacon in here you will not want to use the George Foreman. Do not get rid of your George Foreman's they will still be very useful! I have not attempted to cooks eggs, just do not see the point. Now that you know that, this is actually my second one, the first one failed after about 5 months and so I called customer service and it was one of the worst experience of my life. It took about 4 months just to get another one. This was not Amazon, but the Manufacturer. Pray I never have to deal with that again. If you have a family, need to save time, cut fat, or regulary shop at Cotsco, BJ's, and or Sam's club then this has my stamp of approval.

Great Oven!
This is the second oven I have purchased. The heating element on my first one finally died a couple of months back after 4 years of heavy use (almost replaces the microwave!). There doesn't seem to be much difference in this one and my previous Flavorware but I will say it does a great job heating and cooking your food. As I read some of the reviews I am amazed at some of the bad reviews the Flavorware has received. Some say it doesn't work or it is not a good oven at all. I say, phooey on those reviewers. They are nitpicking. Ok, maybe one or two are lemons but that does not mean they all are as the many positive reviews it has received. Lemons are a fact of life, exchange it for a new one or buy something else... no big deal, move on. Overall, it has become one of the best things ever to be invented. It still gets heavy use from my family. Hopefully the heating element will last longer, I don't know. And, I will say that someone mentioned to get a Sharpie to remember where the tempature dial numbers are but this is only because it is getting cleaned a lot... which is a good sign that it is heavily used or people are a wee bit overzealous in cleaning it using harsh abrasives. This may bother some people and it's ok but this is not a reason to give it a bad review nor one less star. I say, give it a try. I love it and recommend it.

Good but not as good as it sounds
It's pretty good and I like using it more than the oven. Pros: -No pre-heating -Can use tin foil and metal and things. -Not too hard to clean -Cooks some things really well Cons: -It doesn't cook as fast as it advertises, it's 20 mins to cook a burger per the instructions. -Things don't taste much different. But better than the microwave. -Bread comes out hard on top so sandwiches aren't good to heat up or cook in it. -The timer and temp numbers on the knob mysteriously vanished??? So we had to take a sharpy and put the notches back. -The glass bowl cracked down the side all the way to the bottom. It still works but I don't know for how much longer and I can't find any info about RMA's on the thane website.

like the way it cooks
Cooks as well as the ads claim. The top is easy to lift with one hand so I can turn the food easily and put the lid back on. This is important to me because I have a torn rotater cuff and can not use the NuWave which takes both hands to remove the cover. The handle does not lock in place to start the oven, it flops into a certain range and the oven comes on if the timer is running . Very disappointed with the timer, it is cheap and doubt it will last very long. I got it at a good price at Amazon and if it lasts a year or so I will be happy. Because of the floppy handle and timer I would not give it as a gift or recommend it to a friend. Sad they went cheap instead of quality.

Cook like a Pro!
I haven't gone out to eat much since I come down with RA and restricted to home living, as I take weekly Chemo treatments, but who needs to go out to eat a meal that anyone can make... that taste like it was prepared by a professional, at a fraction of the cost, and more importantly, at home. Well, this will do it in a fraction of the time required to cook in the oven... grease free and doesn't require any thawing, prior to cooking. One example you're going to like is to take two large frozen chicken breast, seasoned and placed into the Flavorwave Turbo Oven. Set the timer to 30 minutes and the temp setting at 325 and they will be fully cooked and on the table; ready to eat in approximately 30 minutes with spare time to include a baked potato and other side orders. The time is almost cut in half if the breast are thawed first, but either way the meat becomes seared and is so tasty, so juicy and so tender. It's not only fast and easy to cook in, but even quicker to clean up, which everyone who goes to work, only to come home and have to cook... would prefer, especially the part about money saving and guess what? No tips required. Anyone for eating at home tonight? Personally speaking, I love Pork Loin with inserted slithers of garlic cloves that have been sliced and inserted into the loin, and like chicken... 3o minutes later, MY, My, my... it's sooo good.

Product is JUNK!
I brought product thinking it would be better than microwaving all the nutrients out of my food. Every piece of meat I cook in it tastes like Rubber or Sawdust if cooked until done. You can't boil water in it because the cup gets hot enough to explode while the water remains cold. The same is true of anything you put on a plate. The plate will heat up to very high temperatures while your food remains uncooked, all foods must be cooked on the metal grill provided. This is the worst cooking utensil I have ever bought. Purchasing it was my mistake, so no I didn't reship to manufacturer or try to get my money back. I simply accepted the loss as an educational lesson as I am sure the manufacturer expects most people will do. Save your money, this one is JUNK!
