"At once a fast-paced mystery and a love story as warm as a hearth . . . This is a classic in the making." — Ava Reid, internationally bestselling author of The Wolf and the Woodsman , on A River Enchanted The #1 New York Times bestselling author of Divine Rivals returns to the magical isle of Cadence to find the balance between the human and faery realms imperiled in this stunning conclusion to the Elements of Cadence duology that began with A River Enchanted East and west. Humans and spirits. Breccans and Tamerlaines. The Isle of Cadence has always held itself in a tenuous balance. But now Bane, the spirit of the North Wind, has pushed everything off-kilter in a bid to claim dominion over human and spirit alike. In the east, a sickness is spreading among the people of the Tamerlaine clan. As healer Sidra desperately searches for a cure, her husband, Torin, the clan’s new leader, attempts to draw answers from the spirits. But the further he strays into the realm of the elementals, the more lost he and the clan become. In the west, Jack decides to take up his harp and cross the clan line, not only to reunite with Adaira, but to unravel a sinister mystery that would grant him the knowledge to defeat Bane and restore peace to the isle. Yet no one can challenge the North Wind without paying a price, and the sacrifice required this time may just be the ultimate one. Rebecca Ross weaves an enchanting tapestry of mystery and magic, love and sacrifice, in this thrilling conclusion to the Elements of Cadence duology. Review: Whimsical, magical, warlike and full of feelings - “I want to write a ballad with you, not in notes but in our choices, in the simplicity and routines of our life together.” I loved this sequel even more than I loved A River Enchanted. The duology is built a bit like Letter of Enchantment was built, with book 2 less whimsical, more “warlike” and a perfect mirror of book 1 for the characters. It keeps questioning that feeling of belonging, how to make a place into the world when you don’t know –or can’t trust– your origins, how to plant your roots somewhere when everything you once believed proved to be wrong. These themes “spoke” to me a lot, resonated so much with me that I can’t stop thinking about this duology. Once again, R.R.’s fluid and gorgeous writing made me wander on Cadence, as her words completely immersed me in her story and settings. I loved how Torin and Sidra had to play against their type, how it made them grow. As much as I love Adaira and Jack, the fragility in their strength, the strength in their fragility, made of the “older” couple a very special entity as they learnt from each other, assumed the role the other previously had. That’s a very beautiful image of an ongoing relationship, how roles and responsabilities can evolve during the life of a couple. But what I adored the most is the relationship to nature –via the spirits– and that reflexion about respect and risks when humans try to master and control everything. A lot of scenes around that theme filled me with a strong emotion. In the end, I might have loved this duology even more than I loved The Letter of Enchantment one, which is saying… a lot… Review: Just as good as the first book! - The sequel to A River Enchanted, I went in hoping to see how the story would develop from the ending of the first book, and I was not disappointed! This was such a rollercoaster ride of a story, and I rooted for the protagonists to get the happy ending they deserved. If this universe gets a follow up, I'll definitely read it!

FAVOURITE BOOK
I. Couldn’t. Put. It. Down. This is my new favourite book! You have to read it. It’s even better than the first (and that’s saying a lot because I LOVED the first book) if you don’t know if you should get into this series THIS IS YOUR SIGN. I wish there was 10 of these books because I read this way too fast!
