Good basic kit, it works for my needs. I purchased this fishing kit to include in my larger kit. It's basic, but i knew that going in, it's a decent kit for the money and you can add to it, making it a great kit. Plenty of room for upgrading, not much to complain about. I was going to include a list of additional items because the difference is quite significant. But i decided to add pics instead. I paid for it, I'm pleased, what more can I say, I gave it 5 stars. Decent kit. Worth the money if you don't have any fishing stuff or have little to no experience fishing. If you already have fishing stuff or have a friend who will give you some, you can build a better kit than this for WAY cheaper.

Nice travel fishing kit. Would be great for camping or emergency kit. I use for a trip to Ecuador. I caught several piranha with the enclosed salmon eggs. Will buy a few more

I got this for my emergency bug-out-bag. It is small and lightweight. You could probably find all the stuff in there cheaper, or build your own fishing kit for cheaper, but I'm not a fisherman. I didn't have any of this stuff, so it's nice to get it pre-packaged. I also got the slightly smaller version that doesn't come in a metal container.

I purchased this for my survival kit. I haven't used it yet but I opened it up and it is exactly as advertised.

This kit has the basics of what you would need to catch a few fish. It is not designed to be a long term food solution, which is fine. If you have no idea how to fish, you should probably go fishing to learn the basics. You should know how to tie a fisherman's knot and how to select the appropriate bait. The other big plus with this kit is the tin is large enough to put a few more items in. I added a small weatherman multi function knife, chapstick, and a small emergency whistle. It is perfect for keeping things compact.

If you put this together in a bag of some sort, very good for survival kit, and a lot of other weight, bobber, and lure options. I literally got way more options than this kit offered, in about the same space, for less price. Also some of the hooks are already tied with fishing line, ready to be clasped. This minor stuff can really save time in an emergency situation, and in an emergency time can be everything. Still, the items I used out of this kit were the round jig heads, bobbers, fly, salmon bait, and am planning on keeping the tin for something else. What I took from it not really worth the price, but the jig heads were painted with eyes and were not bad. Can I recommend this to someone else? No. Am I unhappy with my purchase and looking for a refund? No. If you want an already assembled BARE MINIMUM emergency survival kit that takes up the space of a tin, and requires no effort on your part, buy this. If you want an emergency survival kit that is slightly larger but will be a little more forgiving, have enough supplies to last more than a few days, and not rattle, buy a bar minimum tackle kit, and some fishing line, and a storage bag of your choosing.

This is an "emergency kit". But kowledge of "how to" is important for any kit. Just cause you have it doesn't mean you'll catch fish.
