Element Case Cell Phone Case for Samsung S9 - Black/Orange

After purchasing the Iphone X and recognizing how vulnerable it was to scratching and breakage, based on David Pogue's review I purchased a Rhino Shield Crash Guard. I was looking to preserve the elegant look as well as protect it (along with a rear and front protective film). I was fairly happy until I found out I could not use the side button because of poor design and did an extensive search, reviewing all available X cases and decided on the Element. It does enable wireless charing (Mophie); I can now use Apple Pay as the side button (as well as the other buttons) works flawlessly and the phone appears to be very well protected. The case feels heavy, at least in comparison to what I had used before, and I'm not hooked on the aesthetics (cutouts, orange color and visible screws {not sure if they're functional or ornamental}). But I like the case, It feels very substantial and somehow the phone seems to function better (not sure how to explain this). Of course it is very expensive. I assume this is related to materials and buttons (metal). Of course the only way to evaluate the case is if I drop the phone. Hopefully, the money was well spent and will prevent breakage/damage if I have an accident. I'm very happy and highly recommend the case. I would not buy any other.

Update: 02-Dec-2017 This case (both colors) retails for $99 on the Element site; which is what it WAS going for here a few weeks ago when I bought it. Be aware. Taking off one star now for the price increase.This review is for the black/orange version. Love how great this case looks. Fits the iPhone X snug and is easy to grip/hold. As sleek as the iPhone X is ‘naked’, and as smooth as so many of the cases are for it out there, the Element Formula case is a welcome relief. Function AND form. The case doesn’t inhibit wireless charging, which is nice. “Meets military specification drop test requirements.” My only regret..? I wish there were more color choices besides Black/Orange and Grey/Blue.NOTE: While my order did arrive about a week late, CaseMotions kept me appraised as best as they could as to its ETA—the delay wasn’t their fault. Would definitely purchase from them again. Thanks guys.

Been buying element cases since 2011 for all my phones. They never disappoint. I can tell by the sound, when my phone hits the the ground that my case absorbed the impact. I don't even freak out anymore, I just pick it up and keep going. Only reason I knocked off a star is I've had better quality versions of their cases for more reasonable prices. The metal is more accent than protection. I prefer their more metal versions, but I am not paying over 200 for it. If price is no issue, definitely go for the full metal or wood versions.

Looks good but one of the screws fell out after one month. Gray trim came unglued after two years. For this price I would expect better quality.

Company sent out new screws. Back to 5 stars for great customer service.Update 5-17-18 The small set screws are starting to fall out on the blue pieces. Should have been secured with loc-tite or something from the factory. Hopefully they see this and send me some replacement screws.It's a nice case and fits the iPhoneX perfectly. I get lots of questions about where I got it and what kind it is. Over priced for what it is. I mean seriously 99 bucks for plastic, aluminum and carbon fiber. 50 bucks would be more in line. The Echo dot is 29 bucks and it's plastic, metal and can control my home automation stuff. This just protects your phone but I have money and wanted something different.

Started using this case in June 19’ the screws and rivets started falling out the first week of December 19’ from the aluminum pieces . So for a $70 case I would say it lacks some durability on all parts , despite the fact it is cool looking and for the most part a great protection, I’m very disappointed yes for this expensive of a case the pieces are falling apart for a moderate user.

Be warned this case is only meant for light usage ONLY. I purchased this product for my wife whom does not walk around with her phone in her hand. After 3 months one of the orange rails started to fade slightly, after 4 it was very noticeably faded (looked liked it aged 5 years) . I contacted element case for replacement rail and basically they said its your fault and we dont warranty wear and tear ( but much more politer) . Now that canned response if very acceptable and under normal circumstances i would agree but if you pay $100 for a case you would think it would last a little longer than 3-4 month before looking 5 years old.In their defense the rest of the case if perfect and of good quality. They did also offer to sell me replacement rails for $25 free shipping but via paypal which i dont do cause i dont like paypal.To recap, great case but be warned the side rails WILL fade with light usage and you will need to spend more money on your $100 case to ensure it does not look like a goodwill reject.

This is a very nice looking case. The fit is great and the feel in the hand is very nice. My issue is with the price. I have about 20 cases for the iPhone X and this is not better than some I have paid less than $50 for. I dont get the $99 price for what it is. Get two nice $50 cases instead!

These days, online marketing is soo hyped thats prices have increased massively and it doesn't even match the product quality.So sad but this is reality !! And this case falls in this scenario:)

Great case for the iPhone X, although it is a little heavy. It offers great protection. The only problem I hve with it is that it is VERY DIFFICULT to take it off. I onky did that a few times when the cell phone provider had to chage the SIM card. The first time, I almost damaged the phone as the case is very stiff and it fits tight.

iPhone x is a heavy phone and this cover makes it heavier. Also, it kind of destroys the no bezel look of the iPhone....but that makes the cover safe. I dropped the phone twice. No issues. It almost bounced back once.I have always bought and loved element cases and i might be biased.Also, it comes pre assembled unlike the old ones which came with a screwdriver etc.

The case looks amazing. But the screws that are holding in the metal are falling out, and they give no tool to fix it. I do not recommend buying.
