Glorious Needlepoint

Kaffe Fassett's work is always a pleasure to behold, and this book encapsulates his enthusiasm and he shares his skills in how to make a variety of items, giving images, instructions etc., so you can achieve results. Excellent as he freshens up needlepoint on canvas, which I often thought of as quite fuddy duddy, and makes it look trendy and as inspiring as an ornate Baroque ceiling.

I just love the colours created by Kaffe Fassett. I once heard him speak at a talk about his needlepoint and he is such an enthusiast. The samples of his work that he brought were superb. The book is an excellent record and encouragement to all of us who like his work. Beautiful photos and clear well written text make this book worth owning.

Considered buying this book before but too expensive at that time. This second hand one was great, in good condition. Loads of charts for embroidery inside book, could be used for various types of fabric and thread.

I accidentally bought two of these, one paperback and one hardcopy (this one). They had different covers and the listed publication dates were different so I thought one was a second edition. This book tells the story of Kaffe Fassett's journey from growing up on the coast of Northern California to his move to England to pursue his fortune, although frustratingly, not in chronological order. You really get a feel for his sense of style and color, both very central to his artwork, then and now. This is a gorgeous book with lots of colorful, strikingly beautiful photographs of patterned needlepoint canvasses and the completed projects in situ. It includes instructions and color charts for each project. This book also includes an order form for buying many of the kits presented in the book; I don't know if they are still sold by Ehrman, but I think the company still exists in some form. For me, this is a coffee table book because, although I am a fan of Fassett's fabrics and quilts, I don't do needlepoint, no matter how easy he makes it sound.

Umso mehr war ich beeindruckt von den wunderschönen Stickereien von ihm, eine Farben- und Formenpracht.Man bekommt sofort Lust, sich Nadel und farbenprächtige Wolle zu nehmen , und es ihm nachzutun, .Das Buch hat kaum Gebrauchsspuren, obwohl es schon einige Jahre alt ist. Die Lieferung erfolgte schnell, obwohl es aus England kam. Ich bin sehr zu frieden!.
