“One of our absolute favourites” – Zoe Ball‘‘Utterly beguiling’ – Lucy Mangan, GuardianPlop, the Baby Barn Owl, is like every Barn Owl there ever was, except for one thing – he is afraid of the dark."Dark is nasty" he says and so he won't go hunting with his parents. Mrs Barn Owl sends him down from his nest-hole to ask about the dark and he meets a little boy waiting for the fireworks to begin, an old lady, a scout out camping, a girl who tells him about Father Christmas, a man with a telescope and a black cat who takes him exploring.Perhaps there is magic in the dark after all . . .Filled with gentle humour and giving comforting reassurance to nightime fears and anxieties, Jill Tomlinson’s animal bedtime stories have been enjoyed by children for decades. This edition of The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark is beautifully illustrated by Paul Howard. Review: A must read for the children - It obvious for my daughter to like this book but here I am, totally in love with the character and storyline of the book. The book innocently tells a child how to deal with fear... loved it.. Review: Cool new nicely handled - Brand new, good quality and on time delivery

Not to be missed!
Such a lovely story beautifully told. Love and humour shine through this brilliantly told tale of finding oneself. Thoroughly enjoyed by my two 7 year olds! In Plop's words 'The book is super'!

Victory lies beyond fears
A beautiful story told with such tenderness and finesse. It would echo with everyone who has been afraid of things from monsters to failures....my 14 year old daughter loved it's message of overcoming fears to achieve greatness.

Sehr schönes Kinderbuch
"The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark" ist ein sehr schönes Kinderbuch.

Outstanding book.
A must have for all children in my opinion. A story on so many levels, friendship, determination, overcoming fears, and generally understanding the world around us. A great bedtime story as the chapters are quite short, with your child then reading the chapters independently.
