It has been 20 years since the last edition of this classic text. Kevin Wainwright, a long time user of the text (British Columbia University and Simon Fraser University), has executed the perfect revision, he has updated examples, applications and theory without changing the elegant, precise presentation style of Alpha Chiang. Readers will find the wait was worthwhile. Review: Good book - This is a ug mathematical economics books referred by the universities and it has many exercises and solutions for practice. Good paper and print quality
This book is a 2017-reprint of the 2013-Indian Edition. Which in turn, seems to be a b/w reprint of the 4th edition (2005) of the original book. It's a 700-page book of 20 chapters. The paper and print quality are good. The book cost me Rs 659 which is little high. At undergraduate level this book is quite widely recommended. Earlier I downloaded (of course I didn't pay for that) the book from the internet and read a couple of chapters. I found it good for self-study if the reader is comfortable with maths. The authors have explained the concepts well but sometimes the explanation seems to be quite verbose. Some students prefer the book by Schaum's Outline Series as it contained a lot of worked out examples and no exercises at all. But to understand the topics well one should read a book like this one.

Good from Alpha... to W.
Very well written and presented. It is not only good and instructive, as it is a pleasure reading it. Sometimes it's hard, because it doesn't stand floating over the problems, but goes deeper in their understanding. Shows useful examples and reveals lots of solutions which gives us a clear feed-back.

A great book that does exactly what it says!
An actual mathematical economics textbook! The structure of the book into static analysis, comparative statics (inc. optimisation) and dynamic analysis is something alternatives (e.g. Simon and Blume) do not do much of. Each chapter begins with motivation for the mathematical theory in terms of economics, and after theory has been developed reintroduces the economics. Book was in excellent condition. Took exactly 7 days to arrive to my UK address (as it said it would). 688 pages in total.

Paperback
Good book. But as with all educational books overpriced.

Quite detailed, sometimes hard to follow
The book is not as lucid as Schaum's outline of Introductory Mathematical Economics. I would recommend that title. Furthermore, there arent enough problems to practice.
