I bought it for my tablet but ended up mostly using my phone. But it would have worked fine either way. You just have to have somewhere flat enough to mount it. I had to mount it to the side of my console but where it lifted the phone to turned out to be good.

Recently bought an iPad an wanted a mount for my car so I could use it for work. It’s a cool idea but poorly executed. I unpacked it and the screw that essentially locks the arm/swivel in place doesn’t work. Save money and don’t buy

I tested it with Samsung Fold series phone and large Samsung Tablet, which is significantly larger than a regular phone. The holder handled it surprisingly well and held it securely during my testing without falling off. The mount itself feels very robust and heavy duty. It is definitely on the bulky side, but that also makes it feel solid and stable. The suction cup held very well on the windshield, and the adjustable arm and rotating ball head made it easy to position the screen where I wanted it. I also found that it works best when the bottom of the device can lightly rest against the dashboard because that helps reduce shaking with heavier devices. One reason I really liked this setup is because it works well in an older vehicle that does not have Android Auto or a built in navigation screen. Using a large foldable phone or tablet data enabled with Google Maps gives a much bigger display compared to a normal phone mount. The holder supports devices from 5.1 to 15.6 inches, so it works with phones, foldables, tablets, and even larger devices like iPads or Galaxy Tabs. The overall construction feels strong enough for city roads and highways, and I did not notice any major movement issues once everything was tightened properly. My only real downside is more personal preference than a flaw with the product itself. At night, I found a large bright screen mounted high on the windshield somewhat distracting, so I eventually stopped using it regularly and went back to a smaller phone setup for daily driving. Overall, this is a very solid and well built mount that feels durable, holds large devices securely under normal driving conditions, and works especially well for vehicles without modern infotainment systems.
