Metaltech I-CISGRJP St F/Bkr STYL Scfld Guardrail

Must have, this is worth it to prevent serious injuries, railing is lightweight and well built, feels safe.

Recently bought the Metaltech 6-ft Baker scaffold, and was very pleased with the construction and ease of assembly. However, if one gets involved in their work, it would be possible to turn around and walk right off the scaffold (remembering on the way down that you were on a scaffold). Even if you're not using multiple scaffolds, or aren't at the highest 6-foot setting, falling onto a concrete driveway or floor could be pretty serious. This set of rails is way cheaper than even the resulting doctor/hospital visit, let alone the pain involved. Since my first purpose for this scaffold was to work above the hood on my motor home for running light replacement and some painting, I was concerned that the rails would make getting on/off the scaffold difficult (since the bottom door is not usable due to being over the hood). No problem, the gap under the rails is big enough to easily get through using a ladder (climb to 3rd step, grab the rail and slip right in, see photo). I decided to do this review after seeing all the bad reviews that weren't due to the product, but the shipping. Damaged packages resulting in missing hardware, etc. Mine arrived fully intact, with all hardware, and was easy to assemble and install in just a few minutes. It also adds some stability to the scaffold, so definitely a worthwhile addition!

First and foremost, this safety rail system does work with Werner baker scaffold. I read several reviews to try to get a solid answer about this, and some folks said they had to manipulate things a bit to make it work. I did not have that issue... the two different systems work together just fine. As for the railing itself, it is by no means heavy duty nor OSHA compliant. This is for the homeowner who needs a little extra confidence when working at heights. For that, it serves its purpose. While the gate system is adequate, there is room for improvement. The latch plate should be long enough to prevent the gate from swinging outward, should you miss the latching pin. You simply need to pay attention to ensure you make a positive latch before you begin working. Some other reviews have mentioned the rails are a bit wobbly. I'd agree with this sentiment, but they're not wobbly to the extent that it should become worrisome. All in all, I'm mostly satisfied with these rails for home use, and I'd buy them again. Pretty good set of rails for the price point.

Fast and Easy to install on scaffolding and very reasonable price!

I have 2 sets of Harbor Freight Baker's scaffolding that I hadn't used in years. I need to stack them to reach my ceilings, but HF does not offer a guardrail kit. I had rented scaffolding before with the guardrail so I knew the sizes were nearly identical. After painting all my ceilings without a guardrail and actually surviving... I bought this when I had to go back up... I'm several years older with a kid now, so I didn't want to orphan her! This was the best investment I could have made. This guardrail system is very well built, thick metal, finish is great, fit perfectly, and completely changed how it felt to be on top of 2 sets of scaffolding.. I may even try 3 (with the outriggers that I will buy next). You can substitute bolts and nuts for the pins if you want to make it more stable - there is always some movement in all the pinned joints, but not bad at all. The guardrail feels firmly mounted with just the provided latch pins. This should fit any brand of bakers scaffolding of the same size. Seller got it to me much faster than the estimated date. When it arrived, the box was destroyed... but much to my surprise the guardrail didn't even have a scratch on it. This is the best price I have found anywhere, after a significant online search.

This cage made all the difference in the world to make it much safer, and give me the feeling of such, when up on the scaffold. Unlike a much larger industrial scaffold, this size seems easy to accidentally step off of. This cage is highly recommended for your safety.

Bought this to use on my Metaltech baker scaffolds. You NEED this if you stacking 2 baker scaffolds (up to 12 ft high). Very useful.
