Easy install and heavy!
Great product, easily fits and installed quickly on my 2012 Tacoma. Instructions are easy to follow. Tools required are a 17mm socket (to remove existing bolts that hold the bumper to the frame), a 19mm socket (to attach the hitch to the bottom of the frame), a socket wrench, extension and a pry bar. If you leave in a snow climate where they salt your roads, make sure you have wd40 to spray the existing bolts and holes. I installed it by myself in less than 45 minutes, no need to Jack up the truck or remove the wheels. 2 people would make it easier because the hitch is pretty heavy but manageable. Solidly built and looks good. All parts where securely taped to hitch and in the box.

This Winch is very heavy duty. If you are mechanically inclined, this will be a straight forward install.

Fit well and looks great.
Installed on a 2011 Toyota Tacoma and it fit perfectly. Hoping it lasts like all other Curt Hitches I have. There was a hitch from U-Haul on it before lasted about 6 years and it rusted completely. So hopefully this one last longer. Time will tell but it appears to be well made. They do send new Bolts with the hitch.

Installed by a novice in 60 minutes and was successfully towing a utility trailer the next day.
tl;dr I purchased this for a 2013 Toyota Tacoma 4 door pickup. It was shipped securely, installed by a novice in 60 minutes and was successfully towing a utility trailer the next day. The box had 2 corners partially crushed but was not of great concern to me as the shape of the product does not lend itself to easily holding up all corners of a cube. The entire unit was wrapped in thick bubble wrap (probably 3-4 layers) and necessary hardware was safely taped inside the wrapping). Despite the box damage, the receiver was in perfect condition. This was the first modification I've made to this truck (and the first in over a decade when I did some stereo install) so I am every bit a novice. The instructions were flawless and the entire process from unboxing to cleanup was completed in 60 minutes. On my truck there are 5 bolts on each side which may come into play with the installation (they hold the bumper assembly to the frame. This is a pretty basic, 3-step process. 1. Remove 2 bolts & loosen 2 others on the bumper assembly (note, this will cause the bumper to sag a bit, I held it up with some basic jack stands though I don't feel any extra support was necessary). 2. Insert the receiver into the slot created when removing the 2 bolts and reattach the bolts (not tightening fully yet) 3. Remove the 2 remaining bolts, insert the spacers (used to keep the bumper assembly an even width apart from the frame, since you just added some extra width with the receiver) and reattach the bolts. It is recommended to do the final tightening with a torque wrench. I did not have one but the auto parts store closest to my house let me use one in their parking lot for free. I was a bit hesitant to purchase as several of the reviewers mentioned having to force the receiver into place with a hammer. This was perfectly sized for my truck and did not require even the slightest push; with the bolts loosened it slid right in. As a result, I would not hesitate to recommend this receiver to anyone!

2010 Toyota Tacoma Install.
Great receiver. Very easy to install once you get past all the preliminary stuff (ie getting the bolts loosen and/or removed). The instructions sheet and videos are very good except, who has a pneumatic wrench just laying around ready to be used? I don't, I have a lot of tools, but a pneumatic tool just for hobbies and fixer upper activities is beyond my pocket book. I have a 2010 Tacoma of which has had to endure the snow, ice and salt of the north. Even though I cleaned my truck as much and as good as I can, including the underbody, I still had rust on some of the fine threaded bolts. I used alot of WD-40, bushed every thread, used a lot of elbow grease and a cheater bar and it still took me almost 4 hours to complete the install (and I'm not a novice at using my tools). Now I must say though, once I got the bolts loosen and/or removed, it took me no more than a half hour to install the receiver and that's doing it by myself. I used a floor jack to support and raise the receiver into position and I used brute strength to hold the bumper in place while I tightened the bolts. Actually the bumper isn't that heavy and not that hard to hold up while tightening the bolts, just a lot of turns of the wrench to get the bolts tight enough to hold the bumper up on it's own. I recommended keeping the bumper attached unless you have two people. It would have been easier with the bumper off to place the spacers in place, especially the ones closet to the bumper but once you get the bolts through the spacers and into the treaded holes, all that was left was to hold the bumper up while I tightened the bolts. Also unlike one of the other reviews, the box that my receiver came in was in great shape.

This is Your Hitch!!
This hitch fit my 2013 Tacoma perfectly. It was somewhat awkward installing it by myself but a floor Jack was the answer. I put a good coat of wax on it prior to installing, so it will hold up to the weather and road conditions. All hardware was perfectly sized and instructions were complete and precise. It is tucked up nicely under the bumper. It is made of heavy gauge steel and came with a nice coat of paint. This is a high quality hitch manufactured by a well known manufacturer. Worth every penny.

Curt tow hitch
Looks good and sturdy! Easy to install, the brackets both ends it needs to hit little bit with sledge hammer to make it straight. because it bends from shipping, that’s why it doesn’t fit when i try to install it for the first time…

Loosen bumper bolts as far as possible or remove bumper prior to installation.
Bought this for a 2008 Tacoma four-wheel-drive. It was a very tight fit, but was able to get it installed with a little help of a persuader hammer. The bolts that go up into the frame is a little tricky due to the angle of one you have to use a short socket and ratchet and there’s not much room there. Overall seems like a great hitch. We’ll see when I put it to work. It’s nicely powder coated and has hardware included. I had to soak my bumper bolts with PB blaster the day before and the one that is farthest away is a tight fit, but the bolts that remain in to hold the bumper on need to be screwed out as far as possible to make it easier to install. It may be just as easy to take the whole bumper off to begin with.

Amazing! Fit perfectly!
The hitch seems very strong...and the fit is great. It took me awhile to install it but that was mostly due to the rusted bolts in the frame...not due to the Curt hitch product.

Fits 2010 Tacoma well
The hitch fit my 2010 Tacoma perfectly. A nice change from the old rusty one. It does not have the bracket for the 2 bolts that tie the OEM one to the bumper, but given how securely it bolts to the frame this should not be a problem.
