Solid security system with good coverage, clear video, and room to expand
**Review Title:** Solid security system with good coverage, clear video, and room to expand **Review:** I bought the ANNKE Wireless Camera System because I wanted a more complete home security setup that could run continuously, record locally, and give me coverage around the outside of the house without needing a monthly subscription. Overall, this has been a very solid system and a good option for anyone who wants more than just one or two standalone cameras. The biggest thing customers should know is that the system is โwirelessโ for the video signal, but the cameras still need to be plugged into power. That was not a problem for me, but it is important to plan where each camera will go before installing them. You will still need access to outlets or a way to run power to each camera location. Once powered, the cameras connect wirelessly to the NVR, which makes the setup cleaner than running video cables everywhere. Video quality is good, especially during the day. The image is clear enough to see important details around the property, and the wide coverage from the four cameras makes it easier to monitor multiple areas at once. I also like that the NVR is 16-channel expandable, so I can add more cameras later instead of replacing the whole system. That is one of the main reasons I chose this setup over smaller camera kits. The 1TB hard drive is another major plus because it allows 24/7 recording without depending only on cloud storage. I prefer having local recording because it feels more reliable and gives me more control over my footage. The system is also helpful for reviewing past activity, not just checking live video. The human detection feature is useful because it helps cut down on unnecessary alerts compared to basic motion detection. Like most camera systems, it is not perfect every single time, but it does make notifications more meaningful. The two-way audio is also a nice feature. It is useful for speaking to someone outside or letting someone know they are being recorded. The cameras feel sturdy enough for outdoor use, and the IP66 waterproof rating gives me more confidence using them outside in different weather conditions. I would still recommend mounting them in smart locations where they are somewhat protected when possible, but they do feel made for outdoor security use. A few things to keep in mind: the cameras are 3MP, while the NVR supports up to 4K, so customers should understand that the included cameras themselves are not 4K cameras. Also, because each camera needs power, the installation may take some planning depending on your home layout. Overall, I am happy with this system. It gives good coverage, local recording, expandable channels, useful alerts, and a more complete security setup than simple battery cameras. I would recommend it to someone who wants a dependable home camera system and does not mind planning around power outlets for each camera.

Great product!!
Good quality picture even at night. Easy to install once I had the power where I needed it. Very good product and gave me a great view of my property 24/7.

One of the worst purchasing decisions I have ever made.
One of the worst purchasing decisions I have ever made. I purchased this product with high expectations, but it presented multiple issues from the very beginning. Its performance was unstable within the first few days, and the technical support has been disappointing, offering neither clear nor reasonable solutions to the problems reported. After the purchase, four of the units began functioning intermittently, and just two months later, several have already started to fail consistently. At only three months post-installation, half of the products are practically no longer working. I am attaching images and detailed information to support these claims. It is important to emphasize that the investment goes beyond the product itself; installation costs and all related expenses are significant. It is unacceptable to have to consider replacement after such a short period of time. If this is the condition after only three months, I cannot imagine what it will be like in a year. I definitely do not recommend this product.

Great system for the price!
I work in video forensics and have worked with hundreds of different DVR systems. This system was extremely easy to set up. Plug the cameras in and turn on the main unit. That's about it. "Wireless" cameras are great in that you do not need to string an ethernet cable from the DVR to each camera. This is big time saver. But remember that these cameras still require power. So, wherever you place these cameras, there needs to be an power outlet. Not a huge deal, but does limit where you can place the cameras. The DVR interface is easy to use. While it lacks some bells and whistles of some more expensive units, this has been excellent for my home and has worked great so far! Continuous recording and motion recording are available. Camera range is OK and highly depends on environmental conditions. On a clear, nice day, these cameras work great and the signal strength is good. I did notice that once when it was very foggy and misty, that 2 of the cameras located furthest from the DVR lost their signal for a time being. I live in the mountains and always hope that my DVR records wildlife moving around the house. While this DVR does have "Intelligent" detection, it seems to be geared toward human detection and even provided an option for such. It would be nice if this had motion detection technology that weeded out 'non heat' sources from detection, such as blowing leaves, or even a spider web in the camera's view. But I knew before purchase that this particular DVR did not have that ability. Overall, very satisfied so far with this system. You want a system that is easy to set up and require very little to no maintenance after setup. This DVR satisfies those requirements.

Definitely recommend this system
This is a pretty solid system. The cameras are really nice. I mean they are only 3mp so don't expect some really high quality picture and video. Make sure the supplied 60ft (maybe 50?)cables are going to be enough,if not, buy extra. I appreciate the supplied mouse but I needed wireless. I purchased one of those Bluetooth trackpad/keyboard with backlight....it works but constantly registers a key press even if you don't touch it. Same thing happens with any wireless keyboard. I ended up buying a trackball Logitech mouse and this works fine with the onscreen keyboard. You don't need to type much anyway. For the most part the night vision works really well. The infared light attracts just as much bugs as a standard multi ir camera. I found fine tuning it in the PTZ option can give you the best clarity. There is documentation supplied with the camera on how to change these settings. Yes the white flashing light can be turned off. I can't say much about the quality of motion detection because I have it set to continuously record. However there is an option in playback called smart playback that basically jumps the recording to where motion was detected. It's really nice not to have to click through hours of video to see if anything happened. On the playback bar are green little tick marks that indicate there was motion there. The app called annkevision is great. I am able to view my live feed from work and playback as well. Don't remember the difficulty of setting it up. I believe there was a QR code you had to have your phone read and it pretty much syncs up with your system. If you're the least bit tech savvy, you should have no trouble. With that, I'm overall really pleased with it. It gives me an extra piece of mind knowing I can watch over my family and belongings. Pair this with a security system and your choice of in home self defense and keep your family safe. Godbless

It just doesn't work for me
I will give you my pros and cons. I received the system in December 2025. Pros Connectivity: Connecting was a breeze. It is plug and play and very easy to set up. Picture quality is very good, and night vision is about what I expected. Adjusting camera angle is much easier with some adjustments being made without tools. The zoom works very well. You can zoom in quite a bit before it becomes grainy. Cons: Motion detection is flakey. If it set to record only on motion detection, the item being detected is sometimes already out of camera range before it records. It freezes frame a lot. I have two cameras over lapping an area. It will start recording on one camera and by the time the second camera starts recording, the detected object is already out of range of the second camera. Sometimes while watching the display, something will move though the display and when I playback to watch it, it's not there. To see what was recorded, I have to reboot the NVR. I made a mistake by not sending it back, but I thought that I would be able to make it work for me, I couldn't.

Awesome Camera System
I purchased the ANNKE wireless camera system for my warehouse. They system is very easy to set up, very plug & play type setup which I like very much, however when I got to the last camera during the setup it was not registering. The light did not come on as the others did and I tried everything I could before contacting customer service. They were very helpful. Since I was at home when I contacted them and not at the warehouse, they did follow ups to allow me to contact them back when I was at the warehouse and we tried every troubleshooting methods. We realized that it was merely a defective camera which no way affected the use of the other cameras and the system. I did order a replacement camera set with the help of customer service and when I received the new one, again simple plug & play. It registered immediately and connected to the system. Overall the system is amazing. I love receiving notifications on my phone from the app. The video quality is great. The attached screenshot is from the cameras I have set up. Two are outdoors and the 3 are inside with no lights on, so you can definitely see that the nigh vision is superb. I have the system set up for continuous recording for little over a month now and only about 9% of the local storage space has been used, so the 2TB was a good option for me. But I might get the additional cloud storage option though in the future. I will be adding more cameras soon and may purchase another additional set for another property. With the great quality of the system and the top notch customer service assistance I received, I am very pleased with this purchase so much that I've already recommended to some people. For the price, service and quality of the product, you can't beat this, A must buy!!

Real-world breakdown: Great local NVR foundation, but know what "wireless" actually means before buy
bought this ANNKE Wireless Camera System specifically because I was tired of monthly cloud subscription fees and battery-powered cameras missing half the action while trying to wake up. Here is a realistic breakdown of what works, what doesn't, and what you need to plan for. The Reality of "Wireless" First, clear up the marketing term: "Wireless" refers ONLY to the video signal transmission, NOT power. Every single one of these four cameras needs to be plugged into a physical wall outlet using the provided power adapters. If you don't have outdoor GFCI outlets near your mounting points, you'll need to drill through exterior walls or run extension conduit. Plan your mounting locations around your power sources before drill bits touch siding. Performance & Picture Quality Video Sharpness: The included cameras are 3MP (2K)โnot 4K. The NVR unit itself is 4K capable, which means you can add higher-resolution cameras down the road. That said, the 3MP image during the day is crisp enough to clearly read license plates in a driveway or identify faces on a porch. Night Vision: The dual-light setup (switching between IR and full-color spotlights) works surprisingly well. The full-color mode turns on when motion triggers the lights, which acts as a decent passive deterrent. WiFi Signal: On the 5GHz band, video latency in the app is minimal. However, wall density matters. If a camera has to push through two brick walls or heavy plaster, expect a frame rate drop. Smart Features & Local Storage Human Detection: AI filtering works nicely for isolating actual people. It cuts down on 80% of the false alerts caused by blowing tree branches, moths, or rain compared to standard pixel-motion sensing. Local NVR & App: Having the pre-installed 1TB hard drive recording 24/7 gives total peace of mind without worrying about WiFi drops killing cloud clips. The app remote access is smooth for live viewing, though navigation on the NVR interface itself is easier if you plug in a standard USB mouse. The Bottom Line If you want continuous 24/7 local recording without a monthly subscription fee, this is one of the best value kits under $200. Just go into it knowing you'll need power outlets near each camera site.

Easy to set up. Good app. Clear vision
I set up a cheaper camera a few years ago and it is so clunky. Don't really trust it. This was easy to get going and a nice interface. I can't comment yet on how many years this will last but am optimistic. Seems good so far.
