If you have a cat, stop buying the tiny "cat" version of these and just get this dog bag! It is literally the exact same single-ingredient minnows, but you get a much bigger bag for a way better price. Why my cat (and my wallet) loves these: The "Obsession" is Real: My cat goes absolutely feral for these minnows. I just have to crinkle the bag and he appears out of nowhere. It’s his favorite high-value treat by a mile. Actually Healthy: I love that there’s no mystery gunk or fillers. It’s just freeze-dried minnows, so I feel great about giving him a "clean" snack that’s packed with protein. The Perfect Hack: The "cat" version of freeze-dried minnows is usually half the size for the same price. This 2.5 oz bag lasts so much longer, and since the fish are the same size, he doesn't know the difference. Great for Toppers: If he's being picky with his dinner, I just crumble one of these over his wet food and he clears the bowl. If you want to spoil your cat without getting ripped off by "cat-specific" packaging, this is the way to do it. 10/10—my cat is officially a minnow addict!

Love all vital essentials products. Most are single ingredients. These minnows are a great addition to my dog’s bowl. She loves the crunch! They do smell so beware. But it’s the first thing in the bowl that my dog goes for.

My cats LOVE these minnows. I love them because they are small and not messy to hold a few in my pocket, as gross as that might sound, ha. And being freeze-dried and single ingedient is awesome...I love being able to easily give my cats a quick bite of "whole prey" with these treats! We always make sure we have these...I have ordered multiple times.

Cats & dogs go crazy for these! Period Okay a little more praise is the can possibly last a long while depending on how many you give I’d say one bag can last anywhere from one month to 2 or 3 depending on how many pets & number of fishies they get. The recommended serving is on package. If you want your pet to learn new tricks this is a good treat to encourage their showing off for you. They must be tasty & they are safe for everybody. You don’t have to worry about out choking no matter the size I have 2 dogs 4 kitties ranging from 4lbs to 70 lbs.

I purchased these to compare with two other brands of whole dried fish treats (one freeze-dried and one dehydrated). It’s very hard to tell size and texture differences from Amazon photos, so I’m including pictures of all three side-by-side for reference. Out of the three, my cat went straight for the Vital Essentials freeze-dried minnows first. She picked it up immediately, crunched it, and ate it all. She is able to bite them cleanly in half and consume them easily. These are labeled as dog treats, but the size works very well for cats too. They’re small enough to be manageable while still being a whole fish treat. Texture-wise, they are light, dry, and crisp (typical freeze-dried texture). They do not appear oily or overly hard. For comparison: •She rejected the dehydrated sardines entirely (another item I used to compare quality) •She sampled but refused to eat the Otis & Pearly freeze-dried minnows. •She clearly preferred these ones instead from Vital Essentials For additional context, my full-size Boxer (who is a very picky eater) also loved these and ate them without hesitation. If you’re looking for whole freeze-dried minnows for either a cat or dog, these were the clear winner in my household. Highly recommend!
