I'm not a vegan but I buy this often. It's convenient and tastes decent, it's also very cheap and the macros are incredible. What I don't like is that it's out of stock so often.

Use these with some taco seasoning for vegetarian tacos! My husband is a meat eater and this first round he couldn't even tell the difference. Delicious and if cooked properly the texture is divine! Plus it keeps in the freezer well. We found one hidden in the back recently and it still cooked up nicely! Would recommend for those needed in a meat substitute. We also use these for breakfast burritos.

This “ground beef” takes on the flavors of the spices and ingredients it is mixed into. I like spicy foods, so to me as a stand alone ground beef substitute the flavor is not bad at all, but it’s bland. The most noticeable difference to me, personally, is the texture. With that said, it mixes very well with other ingredients, which makes it less apparent that it is plant based. I have used it mixed with ground beef 50/50 ratio in soup, spaghetti sauce, and chili, and my die hard beef eaters didn’t notice. It was a first time test for me to see if I could successfully feed my professed carnivores some healthier sauces and dishes without them protesting. They agreed that they didn’t really taste a difference. I think they would have noticed if I had used 100% Gardein due to the slightly crumbly texture. I will definitely buy it again. It is a quality product that crosses off some important boxes for me - easy, healthy, plant based alternative. I’d like to experiment with making burgers and using it as a standalone protein in some other recipes, too. It’s not ground beef, but if you like ground beef, it’s pretty darn close with a lot less fat and calories. Give it a try.

Love this stuff ! Used it to make spaghetti with "meat" sauce and Swedish "meatballs". Needs to be cooked. It is a bit inconsistent on clump sizes, with some big enough to be called meatballs and others mere hamburger crumbles. I suppose I could form it into larger balls, using raw egg to hold it together, then cook. Comes in a reusable Ziploc bag. Tastes like well cooked hamburger (no bloody taste). I went to buy more and they were sold out. :-(

i weigh 122 but have high cholesterol due to diabetes so i thought i would try plant based "meat" as an alternative ... yuck, ugh, no thanks. i have tried "steak" and while it looked great, it was very unsatisfying. however, and maybe because this is crumbly and not trying to be chunks of meat, i actually don't mind this "ground beef" at all. i have never eaten it on its own (so my opinion could change), but i liked this in pasta sauce a lot. it makes the sauce look like it has meat in it and it blended well with the flavor and texture. this is literally the only plant meat i have liked so far, even with this brand's other plant based meats i have tried.
