Interesting. Decided to try something different other than chocolate. I purchased this Carob Powder to use in my Protein Smoothies, shakes and coffee drinks baking as well. THE GOOD: Delivered overnight as promised. This is an interesting product. It is like Chocolate, but its not like Chocolate. Is has a very Earthy nutty flavor with a very nice and interesting finish in the mouth. I like it and will probably purchase more. The only thing i havnt done yet is use it in baking. I recommend using a wisk, blender or Shaker to make sure there are no clumps in the liqued. When using this, it already has a more natural sweetness and is not as bitter as cocoa powder, however, you still need to add sugar or sweetener and you may want to use more sugar or sweetener than you would with cocoa powder to balance out the Earthy flavor. Add some salt, this adds a a very nice flavor and again, the salt balances out the Earthy tones. Want a add a real punch to its flavor, add cinnamon, wow, what a combo!!!!, it also great in hot coffee drinks. Also, mix it with Cocoa Powder, I do Half and Half, wow, another great flavor profile. THE BAD: The container it comes in is fine. Its a small plastic type pantry container, however, when mine was delivered, the container was in an Amazon Sealed envelope, the container was pretty well damaged with the corners crushed and it would not sit flat in my cupboard due to the damage so I transferred the contents to another container. The container didn't break and remained sealed, however, this is a product that should have been packed in a shipping box. THE UGLY: Nothing ugly to report. NOTE: This product may not be for everyone. If you don't like Earthy tones in drink or other things, you may not like this product. However, once you figure out your flavor profilebwith this product, such as added sweetness, salt, mixing with coffee, cinnamon etc, this a a great tasting carob powder.

Ordered this before and was dark and delicious. This batch was a very light color and tasted terrible. Also had a bad smell. Had to throw it in the garbage. Obviously no quality control. Do not take a chance. Revised: Katy from Roots Circle reached out to me. I did not realize there were different types of carob-raw/roasted. This was my ignorance. Katy sent out immediately a new batch and it is excellent. This is a great, small family run business and deserves our support. Incredible customer service and terrific products. Please don't let my stupidity keep you from this company. PS: container is so much better than (not) resealable bags!

Low sugar/salt. Very good taste just like chocolate

The carob powder has good flavor, but you will need to mix carefully & thoroughly, especially in cold milk. I am avoiding sugar & caffeine, so I add some of this carob powder & some aspartame to some low-fat milk & then stir it for a while with a battery powered whisk. Not bad at all.

Update! Katy from custom service reached out and send a replacement. The replacement batch is much better quality and looks darker and richer. I’ve updated to five stars. Thanks to great customer service and the follow up I do recommend the carob powder. As someone whos child has an allergy to chocolate we use it frequently and quality is very important. Original.. This is the second batch I ordered. The first tub was dark and rich, the tub that was delivered today is white as flour and since it is non returnable I’m stuck with it. Please do not waste your money.
