Puzzle your way around the U.K.
A beautifully presented puzzle book with a range of four levels of questions - two at each level from easy to challenging. An OS map extract is shown for each puzzle and the questions are asked based on this. The puzzles are gathered together in chapters, each with a different theme. Each map is introduced with information about that extract and the book is interspersed with facts and information about the OS. Looking forward to taking this puzzle book away with us on our adventures in the caravan. Somehow it seems rather apt for that. I ordered two by accident so have returned one.

Great Fun, Challenging.
This was purchased as a gift and the recipients loved it. They used to be avid hikers but have become rather limited these days so I was a bit worried about giving the gift. No need to worry, they found the puzzles challenging and fun and had walked in some of the areas so it brought back happy memories. Great idea, works on many levels, even their two young grandchildren sat and enjoyed it. Rapid dispatch, thank you.

No need to go out in the cold!
What a nice little book. It`s a mix of a crossword and geocaching, all from my arm chair!

Ok as a gift to get into maps
I love OS maps & their gifts are really quirky. I was a bit disappointed with this though. I’d hoped to use it as challenging entertainment whilst camping. Whilst there are 4 levels of difficulty, only 2 of the 8 questions are really map reading related questions. Others are anagrams from what you can see on the map, or how many times can you see the word ‘farm’. Probably good to get younger kids interested in looking at maps, but no use for challenging adults.

Map puzzle book
Great map puzzle book, liked the size and design. Good price.

Not remotely challenging. Perhaps it is aimed at children or people just learning to read maps. I was hoping for something much more interesting and fun. It is the equivalent of 'word searches' for those used to tackling The Times crossword.

Is the author of this book in any way related to geography or -- for God's sake -- to cartography? No interesting questions about what is on the map, geographically speaking. The author seems not te be able to read a map but is interested in small trivias such as the number of letters in the name of a village ... Shame!
