An excellent deal for an excellent product
Fits well, is soft and non-itchy, lightweight but warm. I only wear this base layer under my waterproof fleece-backed snow pants, as this provides plenty of warmth when actively hiking or snowshoeing. It is also exceptionally breathable, and will dry quickly. I have only machine washed on delicate and air-dried, as specified in the care instructions. The socks that came with these leggings are cushy, a little bit scratchy, and washed and dried just fine in a normal warm wash and medium dry cycle. I would not hesitate to continue ordering from this company, especially since a lot of the more expensive brands have been upping their synthetic content. You’re definitely getting way more wool for your buck from Merino Tech!

Replace ALL your other leggings!
I get cold easily and am trying to gradually replace as many of the synthetics in my wardrobe as I can with clothes made of natural materials. So when I saw these leggings while doing my Black Friday shopping, I gave in to temptation and bought four pair - two heavyweight and one each in medium and lightweight. Yes, they're in different colors (black, grey, and blue). What I LOVE: They're cozy soft, like a high-quality fine-knit (superfine) merino wool sweater. They aren't itchy at all, and they breathe like they're not even there. The heavyweight ones are sufficient for the freezing temperatures at my sister's place in the mountains without being too warm for the slightly-warmer temperatures at my parents' place. They all look great, sleek and streamlined without the plastic sheen of synthetics. If you do medieval reenactment, like I do, they'll work perfectly for it too, as long as you can cover or ignore the company logos at the hip and left ankle. The free pair of socks that come with them are a basic grey but feel almost pillow-soft. What could be improved: I got XXL, because my measurements are borderline between there and XL for the company's size guide (L/10-12 in normal store sizes). The leggings are a little looser than they need to be, though the nice thing about wool knits is that you can't tell they're big unless they're way too big. I'll probably get XL for my next order, but only because I like the waist to feel a bit more snug than these are. (I can add a drawstring to fix that.) There's a seam about 3" above the ankle that I wish were slightly less visible, though it's not enough to make me look for a different style. An option with pockets would have been nice, even though it would mean losing the seamless line along the outer leg. But these minor issues don't even add up to any significant dissatisfaction. I'm going to be living in them all winter long and will at least be able to wear the lightweight ones in the summer. As well as wool breathes, even the heavyweight ones will probably be more comfortable than synthetic ones in the summer.

High quality, thick gauge wool at budget friendly prices
Sooo glad I bought these for base layering before the big snow storm! I do a lot of winter beach walks in the NE and need to layer up due to wind and extreme cold temps. I wanted a heavier gauge wool (320) to keep my legs warm while walking. These are better than my old Smartwool pair at half the cost!! Really impressed with the high quality wool used and the budget-friendly pricing. Great for moisture wicking, heat retention and also odor control, which means longer wear times between washings- great if you’re backpacking or extended hikes. High quality, non itchy and not bulky for layering. Very cozy feeling too- you can wear them around the house as a single layer like sweats, but a lot less bulky. Haven’t washed them yet but will hand wash in cold water with Woolite to preserve fabric and air dry. You can machine wash them on cold/gentle cycle too if you want, tumble dry low. I am 5’3” 115 lbs and the small fits perfectly. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase! also comes with thick wool socks that keep my feet warm and dry. Stay warm!

Pretty happy!
I'm happy with these! They are warm and soft. Not scratchy at all. My only peeve is that they are short on me, as I have very long legs. They do not reach to my ankles. They also tend to get baggy as they are worn, which isn't surprising since they are natural fiber. They are fine under pants or a long skirt, but don't look good with a short skirt or worn on their own due to the baggy appearance. However, I bought them to use primarily as a base layer so I'm happy with them!

Warm, soft base layer & sleep/lounge
XXL 250 g/m in chocolate brown and charcoal gray. These are so soft. They are a bit thin but not see through and are warm as a base layer or for sleeping or lounging at home. I am between an XL & XXL and I love the way these are loose enough to sort of skim my body rather than cling tightly but not so loose that they don’t work as a base layer. Bought brown & came back for another pair. Next year I might try the heavier weight. I washed in the washer in cold, delicate cycle, gentle wool laundry soap & hung to dry. Washed well & dried quickly (overnight).

Soft & Warm - With a Lil Extra “Personal Space” Built In 😅
These heavyweight thermal pants matched perfectly with the top & performed really well during a late-January snowboarding trip. They kept me warm & dry all day in cold conditions, & the fabric is super soft, not scratchy at all. Just like the top, they have a great amount of stretch, so they move easily & layer nicely under snow pants without feeling bulky. My biggest issue is the extra fabric in the groin/crotch area. They run noticeably baggy there, which makes the fit feel less flattering & not as streamlined as I’d like. Performance-wise they’re great, but I really wish the cut was more tailored. If they fixed that, these would easily be five stars!

Great base layer at a great price
These are my favorite base layer pants. I have in the Nordic pattern and solid blue. Super comfortable, warm but light weight. Washes great, dries reasonably quickly. I’ll be watching for colors and new patterns…

The wool is very soft, silky. The size is correct.
The wool is very soft and silky. It definitely won't irritate my skin. The size is quite large. I clearly needed a size smaller, but I went up a size because they didn't have my size. The leggings are stretchy. I received them late, but I'm very happy with the quality.
