5 Gallon Copper DIY Still Kit. Made in the USA

I was hesitant at first but after I got my still built it preformed excellent and the copper might seam thin in the videos and on hear but its not and as soon as you add heat on the first run it gets tougher and more durable, the more you heat it the stronger it gets AMAZING PRODUCT AND 100% the cheapest you’ll find a PURE COPPER BOILER this size you do have to build it but it’s easy as hell especially with the YouTube videos. I’ll definitely be going there claw hammer supply for my thumper and bigger stills

This was a nice little project it took me a few days but it turned out great. Its not the most attractive but thats my fault my soldering is not the neatest in the world. I did add a temperature gauge in the center of it. I am very satisfied with it and it works great. Had alot of fun.

I ordered the kit with no past experience with metal work or soldering, only the ambition that I'll be able to figure it out. Once the kit arrived, I was incredibly impressed with how precise all of the pieces were cut and fit together. It took me a few hours to assemble (not counting the time it took to watch the videos while I waited for the kit to arrive), but overall the video instructions were very clear and the kit was fairly simple to assemble. I did run into one snag with some of my poor soldering work that only revealed itself after the whole still was assembled and I was heating some water through the still as a test. Not knowing what the proper fix to my leaky soldering joints was, I emailed Clawhammer Supply and Kyle responded to me within minutes with a thorough and clear explanation of how to fix my problem. It's been a long time since I've experienced this level of customer service. Overall I am extremely happy with this still kit. All of the parts are precision cut and fit together perfectly and Clawhammer's customer service is outstanding. With a few hours of work you will be able to assemble a beautiful copper still for yourself!

I ordered this Kit with the intentions of making distilling one of my new hobbies. I can't tell you how nice the finished still looks when it's cleaned (Tarnex) and shiny. It was a little challenging to construct the still, but after watching the instructional videos numerous times, pausing, rewinding and replaying, I was able to construct it as designed. The kit comes with all the part needed to construct. There is a lot of souldering neccessary, so if you are less than experienced with that, you might find it a bit challenging. I wouldn't consider myself even remotely experienced in the art of souldering but I was able to construct it and I have already brewed 5 batches of product over the last couple months. Making it is the most fun. Having a couple friends over whilebrewing, with the fire pit that's raging and the beverages that are plentiful, is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon.You'll always be the life of the party and the product makes great give-aways gifts. I'm thinking about buying another one just to construct it. And I will be able to do things differently than the first one i.e. a cleaner soulderig job and a little different condenser set up. I would recommend this to anyone who has a passion for building models and sipping whiskey.

never built anything like this before - and have no experience soldering copper was nervous to start. Video instruction were straight forward and easy to follow - project came together perfect. Did first brewing yesterday, it did great. You need to include a temp gauge in boiler - that will be my next step in refining my still.

Don't suggest buying. It looked like a great idea. However the tolerances were either too tight or it was cut wrong. I had a professional welder try to put it together and it just doesn't fit right. Definitely not like the videos show. Basically have a expensive wall orinimante. I had big hopes for this. The company looks like a great one not as commercial as the others selling the same product. It just didn't work for me on this 5 gal. Option.

Great project kit. Video was extremely helpful. Like other reviewers I think the finished product would have looked better is the barrel and cape fitted together with a crimp edge like stove piping instead of rivets. The finished still worked exactly as advertised. One final suggestion for those reading this. If your water source is distant from your work area as mine was, you can purchase an aquarium pump for about $12, place it in a five gallon bucket filled with cold water and run your discharge hose into the condenser and the outlet hose back into the bucket. This simply recirculates your water and all you need to watch is that the water doesn't get too warm. Using mine for making essential oils.
