Old Spice, Beard Balm for Men, 2.22 fl oz

I have been using beard balms for a while now. Usually, what you are offered are waxy, thick substances that smell like what some marketing team thinks a man with a beard should smell like. Think Paul Bunyan after a hard days work with a touch of Blue and Sasquatch added in. Not very pleasant to have under your nose for 12-14 hours a day. To be honest, I originally bought this because of the price. I figured, how bad could it be? I could use it up, and if I didn't like it, not buy it again. When I first opened it, I was a little shocked. First of all, it was bright white, instead of the usual drab beige that I was used to in other beard balms. It also wasn't thick and waxy like most beard balms I have used. It is thick, but not too thick. It has a pleasant smell. I used it that first day and I realized that it did something that most of the other beard balms I have tried didn't do: it held my beard in place! The one drawback I did have at first is the color: it is bright white! If your beard has some grey in it, it seems to accentuate that. This is what I thought at first: great, a beard balm that makes my beard whiter! However, I realized that once you brush it in, it disappears pretty quickly. After all is said and done, this is my new favorite beard balm. Yes, as some people have pointed out it isn't made of all natural ingredients but neither is my shampoo. Plus, I don't smell like I have been in the woods for a week when I use it. The smell is nice and pleasant, but also not too strong, unlike some of the other Bigfoot smelling balms I have purchased.

I am not a beard guy with fancy long beard, use hair dryer or comb on my beard. I have only used beard jealousy, honest amish normal and strong hold so far. Those are good but the smell of the amish got to me/my wife and other one was too pricey when I went looking. This balm for sure smells better and does not leave greasy beard, holds really good like beard jealousy, better then amish one. I'd prob buy this again with the honest amish normal both are good for what I need. Not sure if you are true beard grower guy if this is for you though just heads up as it does not leave beard shiny like the honest amish brand.

I’ve been using this for about a month now. Like how well it holds the shape of my beard and helps me cover patches in certain areas. It’s easy to use and smells good too. The only downside is it can add some irritation due to stiffening hairs

I use this directly after a shower once my beard is dry. Scoop out a small amount with the back of my thumb nail. Put it on my palms and rub them together and then run my hands through and over my beard. Brush directly after and it holds a good shape. Once my beard feels completely dry I use the Old Spice beard oil. These product are fantastic and doesn't cost near the amount I see other brands charge. The best products I have ever used, I read where others experience dust or flakes. This sounds to me like too much is being applied. It is a creamy balm instead of waxy like I have experienced with other brands.

First off, I truly love the scent of Old Spice Original. It reminds me of spending time with my grandfather as a child as that is what he used. I thought that I would give this a try. (I also bought the beard wash and conditioner.) After using the Old Spice beard wash and conditioner, I was ready to use the balm. The beard wash smelled a bit different than the original scent, the conditioner had a foul odor something similar to the rubbery material of an old Stretch Armstrong toy. I still decided to use the balm afterwards. It smelled better left in the plastic container. Once it hit my beard, it mixed with the scent of the conditioner (that I rinsed out) and I still decided to try it to see if the smell would subside. The products functioned great! I am unable to handle the smell that they produce. My beard was very soft, and stayed in place all day. It's just the smell that they produced that I can't get passed. I did try for 3 days to give all 3 products a fair chance and a fair review. If they smelled like Old Spice Original it would have been 5 stars in all categories. Soo....back to G.B.S. for me.

Bought for my Fiancé he loves this stuff and he has trued many brands including ones for ethnic hair as he is African American. He wishes they never stopped sin stores because this formula was a little different and not as moisturizing as the one he used to buy. But, it still works!

I have been using Old Spice since puberty, when I saw they had beard balm I was stoked. Was using Viking Revolution and wanted a different scent so I went with them. The reason for the bad review is the short answer it breaks the beard and is harsh, like spraying it down with hair spray from the 80s. The consistency is more akin to face cream. The smell is moderately faint and pleasant. All in all, I didn't even finish with this product before reordering V.R.

My beard is very wirey and thick and it's hard to control fly aways. I've tried all sorts of waxes and balms and nothing works as good as this stuff, plus it's half the price of most other balms. I do not care if it's not made from all natural stuff, that's all unfounded BS to sell you overpriced stuff. The only complaint is that it only comes in one scent that I'm not crazy about, it's ok, but I wish they had more scents to choose from.

Excelente bálsamo para cuidar y moldear la barba. Me encantó porque no deja residuo y se absorbe muy bien. Mantiene en orden la barba y la cuida. 100% recomendado. Sin duda alguna lo volvería a comprar

Can hardly be called a cream, is very thick and maks the beard feel very heavy - even a small beard! There is zero old spice fragrance as well. Just going to have to waste a whole pack which was not cheap either.
