Highly recommend
Love it, best soldering iron I've ever used, and I've used a few (auto electrician with PC, electronics and RC hobbies to name a few). Highly recommend. It's so tiny I was worried it would be underpowered when I saw it, but the first power up even with the 60W PD charger I use for my phone and it cranked out to 350*C in seconds. I've got a metered cable for it that shows power use and it only uses about 55W to get to 400*C in mere seconds so the 60W will do just fine. There's a bunch of things already designed on the 3d print stl sites so I plan on printing a bunch of them including a new case and a heatsert jig very shortly (I generally design my own things but since there's heaps to choose from, it's nice to not need to). Again, highly recommend.

Incredibly polished. Struggles with larger ground planes.
This little guy is an incredibly polished piece of hardware. From small details like the LCD changing orientation based on how you hold the iron, to the animated display, you can tell a lot of work has gone into making the hardware and software. But the key question, of course, is - how does it solder? If it solders poorly then it's useless. And, with a 65W USB-PD connection, it solders well. As any iron does, it struggles with larger ground planes; that is to be expected. I used this for a custom project with a 2oz 4-layer copper pour on the PCB, and had to use two irons for many of the larger joints, as well as a hot plate to get a particularly stubborn inductor soldered. I don't think this is worth taking a star away for though; it solders well enough at its maximum temperature of 450C as long as you remember to tin the tip regularly and keep it from oxidizing, and handily trades blows with high-end Pace and Weller stations I've used that cost 10 times as much. One thing it does very nicely is heat up fast. Very fast. It takes around 15 seconds to go from room temperature to 450C, and much less if you're soldering at a more reasonable 350C. This is great because you can cool down the iron if you need it in 10 minutes, without having to wait a minute or two for it to heat back up again. That may sound trivial, but it reduces oxidation and increases the lifespan of your tip. Speaking of tips - those are cheap, too. Replacements on Amazon can be had for as low as $12, which is plenty low enough considering mine still works like new after a fair amount of usage. Overall, for the price this is very reasonable. Keep in mind that you'll need to pick up a USB-PD brick and cable with a 65W rating if you don't already have one, which pushes the total to around $110 CAD. With that being said, that price is still excellent for what this iron does, and I've already recommended it to many friends and colleagues. Seriously, buy this if you need a replacement iron or are getting into the hobby. Cheaper ones are miserable to work with, and this thing is near unbeatable for the price.

A huge improvement over cheap irons for a reasonable cost
I got this to replace a non-temperature controllable 40W soldering iron that broke (and was never any good to begin with). As someone that doesn't solder very often and thus is not super experienced, I wanted a product that felt safe and premium to use - and this product delivers very well. The actual size of the iron is surprisingly small, which I find to be useful for the precision electronics soldering work that I do, and is more reassuring because theres less opportunity to bump into a massive hot end. When plugged into a USB C cable supplying 15v it heats up in just a few seconds which was very impressive coming from my other iron. I use a kitchen sponge with the textured side to gently clean the tip of the iron since I don't have any steel wool or the like and after the iron has cooled down I just use the original box it came in as a storage case. The UI is tolerable and I definitely recommend reading the included manual before starting the heating on the iron - you can safely plug it in and it won't start heating until you press the + button. I had to do some trial and error with the temperature since it was my first time using a temp. controllable iron and I found around 285 - 295C worked very well with my 40% leaded solder. The only thing I wish there was was a quick button to disable heating without unplugging the iron or relying on the motion-detecting standby mode, but being careful and quickly unplugging + replugging the iron to stop heating and still get a temperature readout is acceptable for me. Overall, for the price, I'm extremely satisfied because my old iron was impossible to use (too hot for leaded solder) when it was working, and quite literally impossible to use after it broke after mild use - I expect the Pinecil to last a long time.
