Amazon Basics Tool Bag, Black & Grey, 16 inch /40.6cm

Firstly this bag is far from Basic as the name suggests, it’s a superb quality strong tool bag with a very heavy duty top zipper which opens like a Gladstone bag, or old style doctors bag,to give full access to your tools, but it really does provide lots of space for everything, plus it has plenty of pockets inside as well as on its outside to house all your accessories. I bought mine to protect a new Meterk Circular saw, and it holds it adequately, supplied with both a shoulder strap complete with strong buckles, or the twin handle grips for easy carrying, this model is excellent. For the money paid this sturdy tough bag is more than capable of withstanding the rough life it’s destined to get, but that’s what it’s built for. A top quality bag at a great price.

The bag is large with lots of pockets which is nice the build quality looked good i have seen a bit of stitching coming away on this bag but at the time I was carrying a lot does come with a shoulder strap and I am happy with this bag

Decent size toolbag and seems fairly rugged. The material should be thick enough to take some wear and tear. Decent carrying handle. Good value.

Can't fit masses inside but its great to store tools on a budget. Easy to carry around and the included shoulder strap is nice to have. Much to my suprise the quality is better than expected and i can see this product lasting quiet long as a home tool bag.

I bought the Amazon Basics 16-inch tool bag as a compact carry option for light trade and home maintenance work, where portability matters more than load rating. The fabric is a mid-weight synthetic with decent abrasion resistance, and the base has enough reinforcement to prevent immediate sagging when set down. In the hand, the bag feels lighter than many similarly sized alternatives, and the internal cavity comfortably takes a drill, hand tools, and a small organiser. Stitching is tidy and consistent, though clearly optimised for cost rather than overengineering. In practical use, it performs adequately but reveals its limits under heavier loads. The handles are serviceable, but padding is minimal, and weight transfers quickly to the hand when fully packed. Internal organisation is basic; pockets are fine for screwdrivers and pliers, but smaller items migrate unless separately contained. The zip runs smoothly, though it does not inspire long-term confidence with daily opening under strain. For occasional jobs, car storage, or DIY use, it is perfectly functional. For continuous professional use, durability and comfort may fall short.

I bought one of these earlier this year to keep my tools vaguely organized on my sailboat. Metal toolboxes would scratch the fibreglass, and even if they didn't they would rust away pretty quickly in the marine environment so I made the switch to a tool bag instead of a toolbox like I'd used for the past forty years. I wish I'd switched years ago! So when I needed a new tool carrying and organizing solution for home, there was only one choice in my mind - THIS! POSITIVES: 1) Sturdy. I don't abuse this bag that much, but it gets chucked around a fair amount, and that's with a literal sackful of screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, and a hammer or two inside. After a year I can't tell the difference between the old one and the one I just bought. I have no doubt that this will last as well as a metal toolbox, and if it doesn't it was cheap enough that I won't mind replacing it. 2) Space. This is big enough to hold all the tools that I need access to. A full wrench set, two sizes of slipjoint pliers, two sizes of Crescent wrenches, a dozen screwdrivers, half a dozen pliers, a hammer, and a few other odds and bobs all fit in it. If I tried to carry any more stuff I doubt I'd be able to lift it! 3) Soft sides. I can't tell you the number of times over the decades that I've banged a toolbox into a wall or door or side of a shelf - or car (YIKES!) - and every time the evidence is clear. With this, I can be just as clumsy but nobody can tell. 4) Affordable. I'd love it if this was half the price (who wouldn't?), but really, I think it is affordable for what it offers. Look through the other options and there is nothing this size for this price. NEGATIVES: 1) The inner pockets are pretty short. They could be a lot more useful for keeping pliers and such where I could find them if they were a little taller. 2) The "Amazon Basics" logo is well-stitched but in my opinion does not add to the experience of owning this toolbag. If it were a simple grey and black bag I think I'd prefer it. Bottom line: This bag meets all my basic tool needs, and at a price point that I don't mind.
