Wait, so it doesn't fight cavities?

Fluoride helps prevent cavities. You will hear endless debates on individuals making argument for and against it. Then there are individuals trying to profit from this debate. Everyone has variations in life style and body composition (genetics). Just like certain groups of individuals with dark skin require very little sunblock lotion, while others with pale skin need allot of protection from sun. Does that mean sunblock lotion is useless? But what if you're a fair skinned individual who works indoors all day, should you buy sunblock? When you look at the population as a whole, fluoride is beneficial in preventing cavities.

Is it safe for young kids?

I definitely would use it for kids. It has no flouride and its all natural. I would use it on my two year old except she's finishing up her favorite princess flouride toothpaste. I'm gonna need to find toms in a princess tube.

Does the fennel flavor taste like licorice - also is there any minty-burning taste with the fennel? (I'm looking for an alternative.)

I've been using the fenel toothpaste for moths. It has absolutely no minty flavor....order only the fennel and you will be ok. I am on chemotherapy and the mint toothpastes burn my mouth. Tom's fennel is the only one I've found that has only fennel and it works well.

Does your tube have a safety seal or just the cardboard box seal?

There is only a card box seal. The tubes in the store have both. I found that strange.
