Would this protect against Hantavirus?

A lot of people misunderstand how "masks" differ from "filters". FILTERS:  Medical professionals use N95/P100 filters because they do catch biological hazards, including viruses. Those filters are tested for their ability to catch 0.3 micron particles, because particles smaller than that are caught by N95 filters even more easily (due to air turbulence - just google it if you don't believe). Also, virus do not have wings. They free ride on much bigger particles to enter your eyes, nose and lungs. Studies have shown that N95 / P100 filters dramatically reduce infection rates in medical settings. Now, understand "Masks/Respirators" .  They exist because disposable paper/surgical masks typically are not quite air tight (air leaks from all sides), and they don't protect your eyes. You end up with "N Zero", not "95/100"  when there is no air tight seal, and air come in through gaps and not your filters, or goes to your eyes. That's why people buy respirators/masks similar to this one, to get an air tight seal.  So that air goes through the filters, instead of unfiltered side leaks.  The same sort of respirator is sold by many sellers under many styles or different prices, and different brand names for essentially the same thing.  Yes, some are better than others, in terms of comfort, voice clarity, materials (silicone or rubber), but expensive does not always mean better.   Because you can put 3M N95, N100, P100 etc filters on most respirators (or use adatpers), they will all catch virus as effectively as all 3M filters can, so long as they fit your face and give you an air tight seal.  It's just like buying shoes. Do shop around and compare prices. Do your own research to avoid misinformation. Soldiers and medical providers have been using respirators to stay alive against biological and chemical hazards since the dawn of modernity. If respirators don't work, we all would have been long gone. Lastly, beware of filters that come with carbon.  If those filters are well made, carbon is a real bonus, and will reduce toxic gas exposure.  But if carbon filters are poorly made and release carbon dust, you end up with more unwanted things in your lung.  For viruses, you can simply use non-carbon filters.

What is the life span of the filters?

I am told in a real life emergency with constant use, the filters last between 8 and 10 hours.  Now that seems short, but I think that this is for Health Safety Purposes.

Do these have a fog-resistant coating?

The mask does have a fog-resistant coating. Keep in mind that if you clean the lens with any type of chemical cleaning solution it will clean the resistant coating off.

Is the mask ansi rated?

I do not see any ANSI rating on the mask or on the box it came in.  It is NIOSH rated for P100.
