I bought these strings to replace my 25 years old dominant strings that were way past their best!They are much thinner than the dominant strings, and there was a slight kink in the e string.while they are adequate, they lack the warmth and time that my dominant strings had, even though the listing raves about warm bright tones.The sound and feel is not terrible hence 3 stars and these are by no means the worst strings you can buy and for the price I'd say they do the job but I'm already considering putting my old dominant strings back on.My dominant strings lasted 25 years and I doubt these will last till Christmas before I replace them so actually these are very expensive new strings for me!I've rated these with the sale price in mind. Had they been full listing price which is comparable to a set of dominant strings I would probably give them 2*

I Put these on a student's violin to try them out, as didn't believe they would be all that great at the price.So far I am very impressed. They have improved the sound greatly on, what is a mediocre instrument at best, taking a lot of the harshness off, and giving a more full and mellow tone. They appear well made and the wind is very smooth.I am considering trying a set on my " gigging" fiddle, which will test their robustness playing for ceilidh's.

My old strings started to sound musty and I really wanted to try something new. I was looking for strings with a quick response and a smooth, round sound. It took few days for the strings to be played in, bit squeaky for the first days. But after this - wow! Love the E string, which is clear as a bell. With Helicore you would be looking to replace the E with a non squeaky version spending a lot more money. But this is really good value for a great bunch of strings. Fiddling is fun once again.

Top quality and probably too good for me... but I fancied treating myself as its Xmas. Strings are probably as important as your instrument. Just put a really cheap set on any violin and apart from breaking at nearly every twist, it can sound like the cat next door. In honesty I will in future still be buying good quality but probably at 1/2 price of these.

This item is exactly as described in the sale material. The strings are staying in tune and the sound is clear and bell-like. When I again need to replace my strings I shall certainly go for these Artisan strings again as I am more than pleased with them, not only the sound but also the quality and ease of tuning.

I wanted to spend a little more (not a ridiculous amount) on some strings for a new (old) violin that I just acquired, and these were completely worth it. A lovely, warm, deep, sound, and they even feel nicer than average strings. They hold in place very well with no slipping, and I feel like they will last me a long tie. The only problem is I don't know if it's the new violin or the new strings that are producing the lovely sound!

Product was as described, seemed to be tough strings look like they will be hard wearing. For me they didn't compete with dominants on sound quality as they sounded a little "tinny" but for price, a good quality product nevertheless.

Nice strings but sadly all 3 of the E strings snapped. This is not intended as a complaint, but as constructive feedback
