I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! Tastes just like real brown sugar. It’s not gritty or bitter and it mixes in just like brown sugar. The only thing is, I wish it came in bigger bags. It’s pretty expensive for the amount that you get.

So many in my world are diabetic but we all like to have treats. I am the baker and ice cream maker in the group. I am Not diabetic myself but I started experimenting with SWERVE by just doing a 1/2 and 1/2 substitution. No one noticed. Now I do full substitution in everything I bake and even ice cream. Works perfectly. I think you do have to be careful to not overindulge— for many reasons, but especially till you see how your GI tract responds to the erythritol. It is expensive and hard to find anywhere besides a well stocked Sprouts or Whole Foods so good old Amazon comes through again. Thus far, no one I have ever served a SWERVE product to has detected the difference. I use it just as the recipe calls for. It is slightly less sweet than sugar but that has actually enhanced the taste of many things that I have made. You have the expected sweetness but not that sweet that detracts from fresh peaches in a wonderful pie or good chocolate in a home made ice cream.

I am diabetic and pregnant so really watching my carbohydrate intake right now. This Swerve brown sweetener is a great option that allows me to cook some of my favorite treats but with lower carb content. As someone who does eat artificial sweeteners on the regular, I don’t find that it has an off-putting after taste, etc. Also does not seem to make my recipes taste TOO sweet. Really happy to have found this product and recommend if you’re looking for low carb/keto baking ingredients.

My husband is diabetic and I bake/cook with this instead of regular brown sugar. You really cannot tell the difference. I've used it in nut crusts, muffins and cookies. It blends well with the almond flour I also use.

I bought this as an alternative to brown sugar and I can not taste the difference. It adds the real brown sugar taste to cooking. We will buy again.

I have non-insulin dependent Diabetes and a terrible sweet tooth. Unfortunately, all the "sweeteners" I have tried either tasted terrible, had uncomfortable side effects, or weren't all that good for you. I didn't like saccharin or aspertame. Stevia tastes bitter to me. The things I have had with Sucralose taste fine, but I was concerned with the possibility of it raising my blood sugar/insulin levels and I am leery of the use of chlorine to make it. I have had funny/embarrassing experiences with some other sugar substitutes. So I just went back to using sugar in light moderation when my sweet tooth got the best of me. Then I found Swerve! I am really impressed by the taste and my spouse thought it was sugar, although made mention that the brown has a slight vanilla taste. Not bad, mind you, but it might be something to consider if vanilla is called for in a recipe. I haven't yet used it in baking, but I've used it with making Thai inspired recipes with great success. When I tasted it from the bag, I noticed a very slight cooling effect in my mouth. This did not appear in the finished recipes we ate. It measures, looks, and packs like brown sugar. I am looking forward to trying this in baked products and trying the other versions of Swerve. I am really happy with the product. My goal is to continue to lose weight and diminish my reliance on medication, and I think this product will be useful in reaching my goal. I appreciate the convenience it affords in preparing recipes that require sugar. Now I can prepare things for friends and family that we can enjoy together. So far no one has noticed the difference.
