Yes, you can connect to a mobile phone or tablet using an external device that will process the signal. Products like the iRig Pro Duo are compatible with iPhone/iPad as well as Android recording. The iRig Pro Duo also comes with free recording apps and cables to connect to your mobile device. All 3Dio microphones come with the proper cable to connect it to the iRig Pro Duo.

If i am connecting to a computer or camera , do i need both an audio interface and a mixing board?

To connect a 3Dio directly to a DSLR camera, it must have an external stereo mic input in order to be compatible. If it has a compatible input, then a 3.5mm TRS M2M cable is all that is needed. No interface or mixing board. Simply power the microphone ON and adjust the microphone gain in the camera settings to you liking. Check your camera's manual for details. - To connect to a computer, you'll need either an audio interface, USB compatible mixing console, or a USB compatible digital recorder. An audio interface is recommend for connecting/recording to a computer. The 3Dio microphone comes a 3.5mm to dual 1/4" splitter cable that will connect to most audio interfaces.
