What is the expiration date on these?

When I ordered (fall 2021) the expiration date was about a month away. So I only used 2 and threw away the 8 packets in March. Really couldn’t tell the difference in using Platinum instant over regular instant. Will not order again.

Why is the best used by date in a couple of days from when I received it?

I can't answer for the seller but I've used expired yeast way beyond the date. As long as it bubbles up in warm 110° water with a little sugar added, you're fine.

Can I use red star instant sourdough yeast in my bread machine?

This product makes wonderful bread in our Zojirushi bread machine.

Are instructions included? I am used to 7 grams of yeast for kneaded bread, and only a half-teaspoon for my no-knead, which I prefer.

The back of the package says “Use it in any recipe that calls for yeast. Simply substitute this package for one 1/4 ounce packet of RED STAR yeast.” It also says you can visit the Red Star Yeast website for information and recipes.
