Childhood recaptured.
Got the Amiga 500 today. Works really well apart from a few keys, but hay what can you expect from a machine that's a few decades old. I can now play some games now I thought were broken like Batman: The Movie, Magic Pockets & Walker. Very happy. Thank you.

Took the plunge again after all these years.
I had an Amiga 500 plus back in the day and it was a great machine. It was way ahead of the early PC's and ran on half the memory and used half the disk space. They had great graphics and sound built in, something a PC could only replicate with expensive add on cards. Sadly Commodore rested on their laurels and these machines faded away when Commodore went under. I have bitten the bug again and have Amigas once again. They are so simple to use and are still capable of doing so much. Also some people are once again making add-ons for these, accelerator cards, memory modules etc and even CF drive adapters. My only gripe is the greedy sellers, some want an absolute fortune as they realise these are having a second wind. I got mine for a steal compared to what some are going for. They are not as rare as some advertise so look around and you'll find a decent priced one out there. Don't pay anywhere near the 3 figure sum some people want, mine was under half that and a low serial numbered one to boot. Make sure the internal battery has been removed or it'll cause expensive repair bills, some sellers only show power being switched on without it being connected to a display, it could be a ploy to disguise a dead machine from battery damage. My first one back when I first wrote this review died but I got a 2nd repaired one and it's been great. Get a good one and you're all set to go.
