Review: Just what I needed - My original battery holder was damaged by my bike chain. For $10 more than the standard battery holder you get a rechargeable pack included. Rechargeable Ni-MH batteries are a bit difficult (a bit too large and snug) to fit in the standard holder, so Iโm glad to have this rechargeable pack. Clear and bright LED indicates when charging is complete. Plenty of zip ties included. Looks to be compatible with existing battery holders too. No complaints. Thanks! Review: Holds charge only for 1 ride, max 2 - Great concept, but doesn't hold a charge. I have the larger monkey light on my front tire, and with normal batteries I had to change them after many, many rides, at least 10-20. With this rechargeable one I maybe got 2 when it was new, and now it's 1. It's not easy enough to charge to be charging it that regularly.

This battery pack is a huge improvement on the Monkey Light.
I've used them for many years because I ride a lot in the dark in town. Two drawbacks on the old battery pack was that it was heavy creating an imbalance in the wheel at high speeds and if you use rechargeable AA batteries a single one of them can die making your pattern go to flashing red. This pack eliminates both of those. It's much lighter than three AAs and goes a long way with just one thing to charge. The pack works in your old holder too so you don't have to replace that.

An excellent upgrade to existing monkeylights
A good thing, the rechargeable module swaps in as a replacement for the battery module without swapping the case. Still testing itโs longevity but getting hours out of it so far. Will report back if I run into issues

Less than half the battery life of a set of Eneloops
I own two M204s, (one for the front wheel, one for the back.) They are used for equal amount of time, (about 30 minutes a day,) one of them is powered by a set of AA rechargeable batteries, the other by this thing. This thing lasts about 3 weeks per charge, and doesn't go low by flashing red on the lights, it just turns off. The AA rechargeables lasts about 2 months, and when they go low I get plenty of warning, (the lights start flashing red.) Obviously the AA rechargeables aren't free nor is the AA charger, where as USB chargers are pretty common, and if you just recharge this all the time then the runtime issue isn't a big deal, so certainly I can see a certain amount of appeal for this thing even with this shorter runtime. But all that said, I'm no longer using this, I'm sticking to rechargeable AAs.

Tried and True
I love Monkey lights! Have been using them for over a year now and they are tried and true!! This was a great replacement part for my set up. I ride at least every other night 8-10 miles and this has lasted about a month. Much better than replacing 2 AA batteries all the time and much lighter too.

Easy install.
If you already have the Monkey Lights installed on your wheel, this is possibly the easiest upgrade you will ever do. My commute is roughly 8.25 miles each way, and on busy streets most of the time. The MonkeyLights make me much more visible, and do so in a fun way. Having the USB-rechargeable pack makes it that much sweeter. Making my commute more economical and a bit greener.

Love these lights!
I have been riding with M20 lights for 5 years originally for my 24 mile commute in the Bay Area where biker visibility is crucial for safety. Most recently I am using it for riding around town with my two kids. My three year old loves the lights, picking the color and helping me swap out the rechargeable USB battery. These lights are durable, well made and now eco-friendly!!

The company may be going out of business
I bought this as a upgrade for a 232 unit I have as a back up display. I was hoping to buy a second 232 but it looks like they are gone and the company has not replied to my emails tweets and pm's on facebook. As to if they would be have any new ones in the foreseeable future. So I basically consider this something that will sit in my cupboard in case I ever need it. After I charge it and run a check on my 232.Its very light .

Battery Cracked - WARNING!!
NOT RECOMMENDED - after only 7 months, the battery cracked while it was inside the holder. Looks like part of it melted as well.
