History Timeline: Art (Historia Timelines)

I bought this chart as a gift for my Father-in-Law for Christmas. He is a high school art teacher, a painter, and a lover of anything to do with history. He enjoys surrounding himself with art, old and new, so I thought that this would be suited for him. Once unrolled, it’s hard to tear your eyes away. It reminds me of my Intro to Art History textbook from college, and it can easily be regarded as a visual trip to a great art museum. There are well-known works and also some I had never learned about. One of this piece's greatest strengths is the actual timeline. I really enjoy the color-coded periods that run along the bottom and how they coincide with the text in the dates alongside the images. The chronological progression of art is truly what makes this stand apart from anything I have ever seen in stores. It’s a handy reference and a wonderful conversation starter for an art enthusiast such as my Father-in-Law.

A good choice if you need one.

This is full of information. I have it above my white board. I do wish the images were a little bigger, but I am really happy with my purchase.

One of the photos is far too graphic for my classroom.

I gave it a star for each of the continents it covers. Eurocentric much?

Probably not suitable for middle school. Too many nudes.

Very good and fun to read. Hang it over my drafting table and glance at it all the time.

This is a great timeline that is exciting our boys about the new curriculum they will start in a few months.

I bought one of these to help with a primary school project and we found it so useful I bought all the others as well. They really captured my children's interest with their excellently displayed pictures and pithy details. It's nice for them to be able to visualise the 'flow' of time. I gave a copy to the school - it's now up in the classroom!

This History of Art timeline is simply fantastic. It looks great and is stuffed full of fascinating information. Not only do I love it but so does my young daughter. I want to get the whole set. A great gift for enquiring minds young and old! J Sykes London, UK

Despite the quick delivery of this product, I was disappointed with the product itself. The poster I received had two large rips along both sides of the poster and large crease in the middle area - which was very disappointing as the poster itself is a thick, good quality print and came in a brown tube for protection. The quality of the images on the poster is of a high standard however the torn poster was disappointing.

It's on my wall, I'm looking at it everyday. Very good class aid
