Well-Made Kettle with a Fully Stainless-Steel Interior
I’ve been using this kettle for a while and have been very happy with it overall. The build quality feels solid and refined, and the matte black finish looks great on the countertop. My favorite feature is the fully stainless-steel interior, which keeps hot water from coming into contact with plastic and gives me extra peace of mind. The temperature presets are convenient for different types of tea, and the keep-warm function works well. It heats quickly, is easy to operate, and feels like a thoughtfully designed, high-quality product.

UPDATE! Truly Plastic Free Electric Kettle!
After a lot of time researching the best plastic free electric kettle with presets I finally pulled the trigger on this one, and I'm glad I did! It is truly plastic free inside and out and very well made. I use it 3x/day everyday. It heats up water fast and has a 7 cup capacity which my husband loves for his French press coffee. The only thing that threw me off a little was the presets. When I first tried to use one it would heat up the water and go right past my preset temp all the way to boil. Not really a big deal, but I couldn't figure out why. I reached out to Saki's customer service (which was excellent) and they explained to me that the presets are designed to first bring the water to a boil before holding it at the selected temperature. This ensures better water quality by boiling off any potential impurities or bacteria, which is why the feature works this way. Once the water reaches a boil, the kettle will then cool off until it reaches the target temperature and maintain it at your chosen setting. Makes sense, but that isn't explained in the instructions. I do wish it heated the water just to the preset temp because I can't really tell when the water has come down to the preset temp, but not a deal breaker. Still extremely happy with this kettle. Update: After about four months of use, my Saki Luna electric kettle began having trouble heating water consistently. It would start to heat, then lose power intermittently. I reached out to customer support and included a video showing the issue. They responded quickly and sent me a replacement kettle at no charge. The new one works perfectly! I also ran a few tests with both the new and old bases and kettles, and confirmed that the issue was with the original kettle itself—not the base. I'm very impressed with Saki’s customer service and how smoothly they handled everything. I'm a happy customer!

Impressed
After 7 years of continuous use, my Mueller electric kettle finally gave out. I loved it, but after some research, I decided to find an electric kettle that was 100% plastic-free. I’m trying to be more mindful of reducing my plastic usage, so this became a top priority in my search. After a deep dive into options, I landed on the Saki Luna Pro, and I’m so glad I did. First impressions during the unboxing: stylish, sleek, modern, and STURDY. I would also like to add that it doesn’t use a button on the handle, which is something that broke on my Mueller kettle. The construction of this kettle is solid, and I’m genuinely impressed. Also, this kettle has ZERO plastic, not just at the body but also at the spout and lid, unlike other "plastic-free" kettles that still use plastic in those areas. It’s heavier than the Mueller (100% 304 stainless steel), but there is grip on the handle, so there’s no worry about dropping it. And, it just looks beautiful. The sleek design complements my kitchen perfectly. It’s also super easy to set up and use. A standout feature is the hold setting, which will be so handy when I’m multitasking in the kitchen. For the price, I’m really impressed by the build quality and design. Highly recommend it!

Not an effortless recommendation, but we are indeed keeping it!!
Now... you may be wondering, "What kind of person would possibly spend $155 on what is essentially a pot and a hot plate?" Let me explain... or at least attempt to explain. We were not searching for a way to spend a bunch of money on a seemingly innocuous kitchen appliance, nor was our mindset, "hey, can we find the prettiest thing out there that also boils water?" Instead, we started this journey by searching for an electric kettle that was ACTUALLY plastic-free. No, not just “BPA-free” or “all-metal base” or “mostly-almost-completely-plastic-free-but-it-does-have-a-silicone-gasket” or “we’ll-market-this-as-zero-plastic-but-we-use-an-adhesive-to-hold-our-glass-and-metal-components-together”. We searched and searched because we used our previous electric kettle EVERY SINGLE DAY multiple times a day, and we wanted something that would not leach chemicals into our water. Enter “SAKI”. There are only a few brands that market to the niche group of consumers that (1) care about plastic-free products that come into contact with heat, (2) care about electric kettles, and (3) can somehow do the mental gymnastics to justify spending over $150 on said solution. We are genuinely torn about the star-rating of this kettle. Part of the tension we're feeling is inevitably tied to what $155 seems like it would demand of a kettle. If we’d spent $35 on this machine (hey, even if it was $75), it would be such a quick, effortless 5-STAR “YES, GET IT GET IT!!” review. But, alas... Here are our honest thoughts (in no particular ranking or order): PROS 1. It is a lovely machine that is very thoughtfully designed. We would have liked to get the BLACK, but only PEARL WHITE was available at the time. The design is so intentional and lovely—straight lines, smooth seems, beautiful dock, that lovely red glowwwww for the heating element 2. The handle is really wonderful to hold—grippy without being squishy! But… see the CONS section for some elaboration 3. The water heats up rather quickly; not as fast as the Chefman we previously owned from Costco, but still pleasantly fast 4. It is truly plastic-free. There is a silicone ring around the lid, but it does not come into contact with any steam or plastic; it sits between the metal lid and the metal lip of the kettle’s body. It was super important to us that zero silicone and zero plastic come into direct contact with any form of water 5. You can TURN OFF the beep!! How wonderful!! And you can even change the volume of the beep! What a great feature for houses that have sleeping babies!!! Yes! Yay, SAKI! 6. You can adjust for altitude! We live nearly a mile above sea level, so water does into boil at 202 ° up here, and it is so wonderful to have a kettle that accounts for this and atomically adjusts temperature ranges accordingly 7. It doesn’t require a stove-top burner! This is key if you regularly cook at home! 8. The 1.75L is a STRONG pro for us. We had that with our last kettle and love this capacity for boiling water before cooking noodles, making big pots of tea, etc. The capacity is a big reason we went with the SAKI over some other high-end competitors in this price range. 9. The ability to turn the “temperature hold” on or off is extremely useful. This was not a feature for our previous kettle (you had to unplug the kettle, turn it off, or take it off its base to stop the temperature from holding), and we’ve found it to be surprisingly practical for different water-heating applications ! 10. Not to overstate point #4, but this company genuinely cares about being plastic-free. You guys, you don't know how ridiculously important this was to us as consumers, and this company goes above and beyond to ensure its kettle is boiling water in a healthy way. They have lab certifications to show that their kettles do not leach chemicals into the water that is being boiled. This was the single biggest reason we decided to buy this kettle in the first place. CONS 1. The angle of the handle is certainly aesthetically pleasing (straight, horizontal shelf), but what makes for a lovely appearance is pretty awkward on your wrist, especially when you are pouring a kettle at full capacity (i.e. a heavy kettle). The torque on my wrist when I pour the water is pretty unpleasant which is surprising to me given how well this kettle has otherwise been engineered. It would really benefit from having a handle that is angled slightly so that I don’t have to either contort my wrist or raise my elbow up high to balance it while I pour my wonderfully temperature-controlled water 2. The temperature settings… the dial gives you single-degree precision, but it doesn’t loop back to the lowest temperature once you reach the max. You have to scroll all the way through all the numbers to get to the lowest again. It would really be improved if the temperature looped, and this is an easy software fix, I think. 3. The temperature settings… I wish there were a way to set your own 3-4 most used ones and then loop through them. I use the lowest possible setting to warm up water for making more sourdough starter, but I also use the highest setting for boiling water, and I also regularly make herbal teas and black teas and green teas. As it is now, you can only choose from the 7 presets or with the 1-degree scroll (That, let me remind you because it is very frustrating for me, doesn’t loop) 4. The silicone around the lid doesn’t stay in place. This is concerning to me, and I’ll reach out to SAKI directly if it continues to slip out of its seam and warps to the point that I can’t just pop it back into place. [update: SAKI is sending a replacement without charge for this! They have impeccable customer service!] 5. The fact that I cannot put this kettle down on surfaces because it might melt the surface or ‘stain’ marble/stone countertops is surprisingly frustrating to us. We regularly set our Chefman down on the stone counter without any concern or damage to the counter, but the SAKI user manual makes it clear that we shouldn’t risk it with this kettle which is really unfortunate. 6. You can’t see the water line. We have kind of accepted that this is a necessary trade-off if you really value zero-plastic kettles, but we still really miss that about our old, does-contain-plastic-which-is-so-annoying, partially glass electric kettle. We do consider it a con albeit a smaller one than some of the others on this list 7. The LCD is great for see the temperature readings, and we love how simple it is, but scrolling through the menu with the wheel and then pressing the center button can be kind of clunky and frustrating with such a small display; it feels overwhelming to have so much information on such a tiny window (lots of lines of tiny words), and this would be one example where having a continuous loop of options is NOT useful; it would be much better if they treated the list of options the same way they currently treat temperature—you go to the top of the list, and if you want something at the bottom, then you have to scroll the opposite direction to get back to it. This would be especially refreshing if the “EXIT” option were affixed at the top or the bottom of the list permanently so that I could quickly scroll all the way down to it and select it rather than having to scroll perfectly to it in a wheel of options. …Look, I really want to be able to quickly recommend this kettle to you. Ultimately, we bought it and are keeping it because it fulfills the three MOST important requirements we had for a kettle: (1) zero plastic in contact with hot water, and (2) heats water QUICKLY and in a controllable manner, and (3) does not require a stovetop burner. You'd be surprised how hard it is to find a solution that genuinely meets all three of those criteria. The company seems really fantastic, I do love the look of this kettle, and there are some other fun features about it, but the price is frustrating and there are aspects of this kettle that keep us from saying, “this was a zero-regrets, easy purchase.” As an aside, we would have loved to get the SAKI Turkish tea maker, but they were also sold out when we tried to get it. It is truly just as lovely, and we likely would have used it just as often. It appeared to us that it is just the original SAKI kettle (which this review is about) plus a handy dedicated tea pot on top, but SAKI support elucidated that is not the case and that there is no way to purchase the little upper pot separately. In summary.... Are we keeping it? Yes. Do we use it several times every single day? Yes. Are we conflicted about a star-rating between 3 and 5? Absolutely. Hope this mini essay helps you decide!

Updated review
*edit* started making loud noises while boiling and doesn’t work as well, customer service wouldn’t help me get a replacement even with their warrantee I’ve been using the Saki temperature control kettle for a few days now, and I’m honestly so impressed. The biggest selling point for me was that it’s all stainless steel with no plastic touching the water… something that’s surprisingly hard to find. It heats up super fast, which is great in the mornings when I’m rushing around, and it also looks absolutely beautiful sitting on my counter. The temperature settings are easy to use and feel accurate. Overall, it just feels well-made and thoughtfully designed. Definitely worth the purchase if you’re picky about materials and want something that performs well. Only thing I’d request is a longer cord.

Great Performance, Safe Materials, Perfect Pour Control, and Useful Presets
I’ve been using the Saki electric kettle for about a month now, primarily for making a variety of teas, and it has quickly become a favorite in our kitchen. It heats water incredibly fast—usually within a few minutes—even when filled to maximum capacity. One of my favorite features is the spout. The pour control is excellent, allowing for a steady, precise stream without any splashing or dripping. I also really appreciate having preset temperatures and the ability to dial in a specific degree. The preset options cover all the temperatures we need for the different teas we brew, which makes switching between them effortless. The kettle is fairly large and feels very sturdy. While it’s not the most stylish option out there, it stull looks good on our counter. Build quality and safe materials were our top priorities, and in that regard it absolutely delivers. Cleaning has been easy as well; we just wipe the exterior with a towel after use to keep it from developing hard-water spots. Performance has been consistently reliable from day one, and for the price, I feel it offers strong value. I would absolutely recommend this kettle to anyone looking for a dependable, safe, and well-constructed option for daily tea making.

Perfect kettle for me: comfortable to hold, stainless steel, high capacity, and elegant
I LOVE this kettle. I bought this just over 6 months ago and have been using it every single day as I use hot water all day long (plain hot water to drink, coffee, tea, cooking). It operates as new and still looks almost new even with such heavy use. The finishes are elegant with a really nice tactile feel to the buttons, handle, and lid. I have a chronic pain condition that makes the ergonomics of everything that much more pertinent in my daily life; I have no problem carrying this at maximum capacity (I find 1.75L heavy) with one hand where I feel it's stable and easy to pour. I chose this over some other popular kettle options due to the larger capacity and stainless steel. Zero regrets!

Nice but Erratic
The kettle looks nice, heats quickly and has a lot of preset temp settings. I bought it because no plastic comes in contact with the water and it was not lined with non-stick coating. It will rust inside fairly quickly though, like most stainless steel kettles, so you will have to maintain frequent cleaning. The major issue is that my kettle began acting erratic about 5 months in and would randomly keep heating past the set temperature and even when the power was turned off. Clearly this is a huge safety concern. Saki support says they are upgrading the electrical circuits on the new production run. They are sending me a replacement kettle once the new stock is in. I am hoping my new kettle behaves appropriately and lasts longer than 5 months, especially given how expensive it is.
