Great little dashcam — clear footage and easy to use!
I’ve been using the Vantrue E1 Pro for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed. The camera is small and doesn’t block my view while driving, but the video quality is excellent sharp 4K footage even in foggy or low-light conditions. I took video in SF in low light foggy day. One feature I really like is the voice control. It’s super convenient to just say the command and have it start recording or take a photo while keeping my hands on the wheel. The mobile app works smoothly for reviewing clips and downloading videos directly to my phone, which saves a lot of time. I also installed the included CPL (polarizing) filter and it really helps reduce reflections from the windshield and makes the image look more vivid and clear, especially when driving along the coast. Overall, the Vantrue E1 Pro feels well built, easy to set up, and perfect for capturing scenic drives or daily commutes. I’ve taken it around San Francisco. Highly recommend it!

Solid Dash Cam
Where do you begin picking a dash cam with so many types...and reviews. Overwhelmed by the options - the pros and cons list came out. I selected this Vantrue E1 Pro 4k Mini Dash Cam and hit the roads. Right out of the box I knew I made the right choice. Delivered fast and packaged well. HINT: keep the inner product packaging as it makes a convenient protected storage box for the included extras not in use AND use the recommended SD card type!!! #1 - The product itself is the perfect size and doesn't get in the way or distracting when driving. The added benefit of the longer power cord is awesome and fits within the dash crevices, barely noticeable when using the clips included. I didn't find the cord too short or too long at all. Unser manual made it easy to understand instillation without you reading it and asking yourself "what did I just read?" Once plugged into the cigarette lighter it was good to go in under 5 minutes. I had no problems with WiFi connection so maybe some reviewers had spotty connections? I also tried the alternative usb cord and both gave the same results, no lag or pixelated images/videos. I am using the Vantrue SD card for combability AS RECOMMENDED IN THE MANUAL, found no issues with errors or formatting or recording. The dash cam has a nice heft, not cheap or plastic like others. When mounted it remains stable and didn't wobble or shake when driving, even on the gravel road by my house. I wear progressive lens glasses and the display screen is very, very clear!. Icons are easy to distinguish and navigate. Driving in direct sunlight the camera was without reflection using the included lens. I see results exactly clear like on the product listing. Night time I have no diminished clarity for phots or recording. The low night vision setting makes viewing much lighter in very dark roads. Reviewing the playback on my phone is super slick. BONUS- I used it to help "teach" a new driver in the house on some driving mistakes. Bottom line I am happy with my purchase and will buy again for the 2nd vehicle.

Works as expected
I purchased on Prime day for $99, which I thought was a good price to get my first dash cam, 4k no less. Seems to work well, and I use the app to view the videos. A little learning curve on the different options, SD card specs, and WiFi operations. App is decent. Unit is nice and small, 4k video looks good after using for about a week. I did a basic install, routing the cable in my in my truck. The unit does get pretty hot and feels like a hot potato if you hold right after prolonged use, but I know it’s the super capacitor for the high res. I used on 100+ degree days with no issues. I don’t drive much at night so haven’t tested that yet. I want to get one for rear view.

Nice little easy to use, feature packed, windshield camera
Was looking for a small camera that didn't take up a lot of window space. Found it. Easy to set up, it comes with the 12 V plug so that you can test it out before you spend time running wires. Optional hard wire kits. I plan on getting the behind mirror USB kit to hide all the power cords, but that will be later. It's got great video quality and a lot of usable features. Does get hot though, but it seems to be built nicely with a metal casing and has built in temperature sensors and shut down features. Been using it for about 2 weeks now, still have not tucked away power cord because still testing out, and plan on removing it to a rental vehicle to see how it handles being moved from car to car. Comes with the ND filter, something I did not see in other cameras. This allows you to negate out the reflection of the dash in the windshield. One negative, if you use Android Auto, you cannot use the VanTrue APP, they do not play with each other that I could figure out. I'll have to remove the camera (easy enough to do with slide out mount) and plug it into the USB port of a computer to download videos. Love the fact that these things now use the electrostatic cling sheets, so when you want to remove them, you can easily with no glue mess. You just need to purchase some replacement adhesive kits, that can be found on Amazon as well

Awesome dash cam!
Finally found a great 4k dashcam and love it! Smal excellent video day and night! The wifi is solid and super fast. Plenty of settings and easy setup. The app works grat. Easy to download clips superfast. Have not used the voice commands yet so cant comment on that. The anti glare lens cover really works well also. And the Sony cam is great along with the microphone. Lots of settings take your time. Gps works grat also. So happy with this I bought a second one! Great price and super fast shipping! Love it!

Vantrue E1 Pro 4K – The upgrade I didn’t know I needed
Replaced a different brand dash cam that went haywire, everything turned purple, whites looked like neon purple. Total junk. My old Vantrue N2 Pro never gave me a single issue, so when I needed a new one, I didn’t overthink it. Grabbed the E1 Pro 4K and it’s been flawless. Picture quality: Real 4K, no exaggeration. Daytime footage is razor-sharp, and PlatePix actually works—caught a plate on a speeding car three lanes over at dusk. Still readable when I zoomed in. Night vision: Sony STARVIS 2 sensor lives up to the hype. No headlight flare, no black voids. I’ve pulled plates off cars on pitch-dark country roads at 60 mph. My old cam? Just noise and shadows. Parking mode: Hardwired it with the Vantrue kit. Switches to surveillance the second the engine’s off. Motion trigger caught a guy brushing my bumper at 2 AM—10 seconds before the bump, crystal clear. Time-lapse keeps the card from filling up with nothing.App: Connects fast, downloads clips in seconds, no lag or crashes. Adjust settings from the couch if I want. Simple. Build & install: Tiny, sticks like it’s glued, magnetic mount pops off easy when I need to pull the card or take it on a trip. Vantrue had my trust once. Now twice. If you want a dash cam that just works day, night, parked, driving... this is it.

Good camera but installation is tricky, runs hot.
I'm not practiced at installing dash cameras but I am technical. The camera came with a polarizing filter with clear protective film front and back. The camera lens came with a clear protective film. The camera images were poor until all the films were removed! Nothing in the instructions said anything about the films. Image quality is good without the protective films but it took a couple of tries before I found them all. There are no instructions on setting the rotation angle of the polarizer. There lots of options on setting up the camera. They are very small icons on the very small screen. You may need reading glasses! The manual also is printed with tiny print and diagrams. A plus is that the camera removes easily from the car through a magnetic connector. Plug it into power and remove it from the windshield to do the setup otherwise the view can be obscured by the rear view mirror even if it's twisted to give clearance. Again, nothing is said in the manual about this problem. It is a small camera but the mounted height is enough to make it hard to hide completely behind a Volkswagen rear view mirror. It seems to be running warm for an electronic device. We will see if it survives the Summer in the Pacific Northwest.

As good a small dash cam as you can get but is not for non tech types
Impressed! Having tried a competitive product with a big name and it was a train wreck. Same price point. This is a nice presentation, well laid out, app works well and video is kinda easy to get out, on par for what they are all like as for the retrieval process. It’s small enough to be unobtrusive, works as it should, provides decent video, and while I haven’t tried it at night I expect it’ll be on par with others. The polarizer lens helps provide decent video. The cable is long enough without much extra leftover installed in a 2025 GMC Acadia. Having a screen and buttons, while small, is helpful, more helpful than I thought. The really strange and amazing thing is this new idea of using static film (think old cheap phone screen protector) to attach to windshield, then apply the 3m double sticky tape to the film. It allows you to simply remove the film and the mount stays with the film. Says it can be reapplied because it’s not adhesive it’s electrostatically attached to the glass. Yeah I know but it works quite well and I have no idea why. It should just fall off but it doesn’t. I bought a 256gb high impact micro sd card and it works well. There are many settings from flipping image upside down, exposure setting, I can’t list them all but all you’ll need to set it and forget it. I found a remote control to automatically mark a video if seeing an incident although it has voice command built in to do the same thing. Voice stuff seemed a bit sensitive or touchy plus means your interior conversations will be recorded with the video which I don’t want. I turned off the mic and will use the remote to mark anything important for later download. All of these dashcams have an obstacle with reviewing and extracting video. Frankly it’s hokey and time consuming. Why? You have to connect to the dash cams built in WiFi card but the cam doesn’t connect to real WiFi. It’s done this way to speed up review and extracting video vs. Bluetooth. And once you find the clip you have to save it to the non live sd card spot and then sync with your phones photo program. So not for the non technical person. You can also connect this to your computer and get video that way, and with the magnetic mount that’s not too difficult but it’s more work than necessary for what you’ll probably hopefully never need. These cams are like an insurance policy for the worse case scenario. I understand it’s a lot of video to comb through, and it’s the underlying issue as best as I can tell. Upgrading to a faster WiFi card would help I guess but it’s a small package to fit everything into. Eventually someone will figure out the connection and extraction issues but until then I’ll say this is probably as good a unit as you’ll find at this price point. Also note, if you have wireless CarPlay, you’ll have to turn that off so you can connect to the dashcam. Why? You can only use one WiFi connection at a time and CarPlay uses WiFi to do that, and so does the camera (WiFi card in cam). If I could ask for anything more it would be a more streamlined way to review and extracting video. This is a set and forget kind of device not like looking at home security cam footage.

Great value
I came from the E1 Lite and went from being unable to read a licence plate of a stationary car as I drove past to being able to read anyone's on the road. Almost the same product except higher quality camera and features. Physically identical, very compact.

Calidad a un precio moderado. Extremadamente recomendable.

Awesome quality, compact.
I bought this Dash camera about 1 year ago. The video quality is awesome; I can read license plates of other cars even at night. Best part is its size; it does not obstruct your view like other dash cams, it is really small. I would recommend getting the polarizing filter, no glare from the sun or other light sources once I attached the polarizing filter. One thing to note is that the camera runs a bit hot during summer, I think it is due to its compact size but does not overheat or crash. The video quality and the app is really good, one of my best purchases from amazon so far.

Excellent little dash-cam.
Well-made and surprisingly small. Easy to fit and unobtrusive. Unusually, it comes complete with a polarising filter to remove any screen reflections (just twist the filter once fitted until they disappear). Very reasonably priced for a 4k camera with the latest Sony Starvis 2 sensor which produces good, clear video day and night. A one-star review here claims that you can’t power it from a USB C socket but that hasn’t been my experience - it works perfectly for me. The screen is small but usable although it’s easier to set it up initially through the phone app. The only minor issue that I had with it was that if you use the GPS time signal for the internal clock, the daylight saving setting uses the US dates to automatically change in the spring and autumn which are different from the dates we use in the UK. That said, it’s easy enough to set the time manually so not so much a problem as an inconvenience. It does run very warm but no more than my previous dash-cam which lasted several years with any problems.

Good for Alaska or north-pole expedition !!!
Good for Alaska or north-pole expedition !!! Loved the product compact size, the functions and options .. BUT .. It overheats within about few minutes, even when used in the car with air-conditioning running at maximum cooling.. even tried windshield air-went at full (it’s currently winter in Saudi), well...I also tested it indoors in my home with the air-conditioner blowing directly onto the camera.... but it still became extremely hot. NOT recommended
