Toss up between 4 and 5. The desire to rate it at 4 is simple. I ordered two of these at one time. One of them has a big crack on the drop table section that is only visible from underneath. It is where a screw goes into a hinge and it was obviously tightened too much. This occurred on the manufacturer's end since the table top/drop leaf comes pre-assembled. It was cracked when I got it but it was not noticed until very close to having it fully assembled. After going through all that work for an inexpensive product during a big move...I didn't have the energy to disassemble it to send it back. The second one didn't have any cracks out of the box. It was a bit quicker to assemble after working my way through the first one. The instructions are good. My hints for assembly include saving the packing included in the box to use to prop up parts if assembling by oneself. The actual instructions are clear but it is hard to hold one piece in place while trying to attach it to another piece...a second set of hands would make it a breeze. The style of the space saving table is what won me over. I bought two to go into a new apartment that really didn't have room for a dining table. For the most part it is just my husband and me. We either eat at the island/breakfast bar or while snuggled up in our love seat. We needed something to accommodate the occasional dinner guests though. The new apartment also lacks decent overhead lighting in the living room so we also needed a way to easily provide lighting. This is where these little tables shine. They are cute accents tables for our new lamps. They generally sit on either side of our love seat. I use the closest drawers for little things like the fan remote, my books, a wee notepad and pen, and coasters. The far drawers hold little things like placemats and napkins for guests. It is a functional little side table. My biggest concern was their utility as dining surfaces. They work perfectly for that. The leaf is adjustable and sturdy. Lock the wheels and you will be quite happy. We've pulled one of the tables out a couple of times for company and we are more than happy. Our guests are also intrigued by the design and function. I will definitely recommend this product despite my cracked unit. I did not make the effort to alert anyone that there was an issue with the first table. I was very happy with the quality of the second product. My husband and I love how functional the space savers are and our guests offer compliments on the appearance and function.

I cannot say enough good things about this item. I read the reviews before buying and asked a couple questions. Here is my opinion about this item and I hope it helps people make a decision about purchasing it. I'll start with the 2 questions I asked. The first was - does anyone know if the stools can be purchased separately and where. I did not get an answer to that one and I haven't found a way to do it. The second question was - can the towel bar be put on the other side. One person answered yes and then a couple others said it could not be put on the other side. The real answer is YES it can be put on either side. Just look at the directions carefully and you'll figure it out. You just have to switch parts A and B by looking at which one has the holes for the towel bar and how they're facing. Many of the bad reviews and complaints were about the table being hard to assemble. You are going to need 2 people for this. It's not impossible to do alone but it's so much easier with 2 people. I've had a lot of experience with u-assemble furniture and this is invariably always the case. You'll have less chance of damaging parts if you have help with it. It takes about an hour and a half to assemble if you have the help. I also read feedback that the holes were not lined up properly. Not the case for me. Everything was beautifully done. All the holes lined up, all the parts were there (you will need a phillips head screwdriver which is not provided), and the wood was solid and high quality. Don't get me wrong, this is not a fine piece of furniture but as u-assemble pieces go this one is as good as you can get. Surprisingly well made. I was pleasantly surprised to find the drawers come already assembled. You just have to put the wooden drawer stops in them, a matter of pushing 4 wooden plugs into 4 pre-drilled holes. Very much like Tinker Toys (if you're old enough to remember those). One common problem with u-assemble furniture is the diagrams. They can be horribly drawn and cause a lot of confusion. I can't tell you how many times I'd get to a point in the instructions and realize I'd put something on backward then have to take it all apart again just because their drawings were so poorly done. These illustrations are very clear. Just make sure you pay attention to the little details and you'll do just fine. The stools are solid and you'll feel secure sitting on them. The upswing is that I am incredibly pleased with this item. Well worth the money. I can't wait to be able to have Christmas dinner at a table!

I purchased this Winsome Space Saver for our small space kitchen a little over two months ago, and for the most part I feel like it suits our needs well. I have limited counter space, so, in addition to using this as a table, I roll it into the kitchen and use it as an extra surface area for meal prep, and it works really well for that. Winsome Space Saver with 2 Stools, Square The overall design I love, however it it not the sturdiest table I have owned, I don't know that it is what I would necessarily deem overly-kid-sturdy, but the stools can accommodate a surprising 200 pounds, so that's a plus. ☑️ WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT ☑️ ✔️ THE DESIGN --- The overall design couldn't be more well-thought-out and practical. It is as useful as it is compact, and the two drawers and bonus towel rack are certainly a nice addition. ✔️ VERSATILE & FUNCTIONAL It is also a great place for the kids to do their homework, and we roll it into the living room as a buffet area for snacks and drinks on movie night ✔️ STURDY STOOLS --- Their height is comfortable when used by both adults and children. The stools slide in and out of the storage mounts easily and freely and are just the right height, making it easy for both adults and children to easily maneuver in and out of the storage slots underneath the table. ✔️ EASY ASSEMBLY --- Assembly was easy enough It took my 20 year old son about 30 minutes to assemble this on his own. I suggest using your own tools as the one provided is not of the greatest quality. 🔘 CONS:🔘 ✖️ POOR QUALITY WHEELS ---The wheels are made of black plastic that is, and looks, cheap. Only one set of the wheels lock. Ideally it would be nice if they were made of a sturdier, nicer looking material, and if both sets locked. ✖️ DROP LEAF --- The drop leaf could stand to be better supported. There is one smaller, wooden, rod underneath the middle of the table that supports the drop leaf, two would be ideal for added security. ➕➕ THE BOTTOM LINE ➕➕ Overall, for the price-point this table is a good choice for a space-saver and a great design. One of the first times I have bought furniture online and been extremely happy with it. Assembly was EASY AS CAKE. Wood is solid wood, very good and very sturdy. The finish is nice. I am super happy with this, fits well in my tiny kitchen.

This is an update to the comment I made below right after I received this item: I contacted the seller regarding the damaged table top, and I received an response quickly informing me that the replacement was requested and order forwarded to the shipping department. After that, I received another email informing that the item was shipped. It took over a week because I live outside of the mainland US, it's not unusual. I received the replacement table top last night, it was very very nicely packaged, and in perfect condition. No split, no scratch, just a nice brand new table top. I appreciate the seller's attention and swift action. This morning, I assembled it. I've made more than enough DIY furniture before, and this is one of the easiest for sure. It comes with the wrench, so what you need are screwdriver to attach table top to the body, and hummer to push in those decorative plugs. Instruction is simple enough, and all the parts and screws fit fine. The only struggle I had was to align tabletop to the body in order for screws to go thru because it's hard to see the guiding hole on the back of the table top. I used a marking tape, and also, pre-screw the holes on the tabletop so they get a bit bigger which makes it easier to locate when you actually put the screws in. (you will see what i mean when you get to that). But overall, it's very sturdy and easy to assemble. one-person job within one hour. Quality is good, especially for the price you pay. It's not a show-off piece, but simple, convenient, and well designed. I think it's a good buy. Customer service is great so that's a big plus. ______ original review _____________________ I just received this item. I opened the box and the first thing I took out was the drop-leaf top. I inspected it and noticed immediately that the table top has a rather large split all the way through the board's end. This is a folding table top, and the 2 boards are already attached by 2 folding metal plate pieces screwed on. As you can see on the pictures, the split was most likely made when these plates were screwed into the board. Split runs all the way long and it does go all the way thick meaning you can see the split from the top and the bottom. This means the board will fall off in no time. I considered filling the gap with glue to reinforce but when i saw the split/gap on the top side, I gave up on that idea. The rest of the parts look fine even though i still keep them nicely packaged. I just requested the seller to send me the drop-leaf top only so that i can still assemble and start using this item. The product looks good, and damage like this can happen to wood material so if this inconvenience is remedied quickly enough, i will still give the seller good rate. I will update when i hear back from them.

Product is cute, and a nice option for those that don't have much kitchen/dining space. However, I'm giving it three stars for the following reasons: 1. It's sturdy, but not nearly as sturdy as previous reviews indicate. I'm a taller (5'10) woman but don't weigh much (135lbs) but this thing feels a little unsure. Everything was put together properly, and it's not rickety, but be forewarned that it's not quite as tough as other reviewers have indicated. 2. I find the stools pretty uncomfortable. The stool tops are a little smaller, so if you've got a big butt (no shame) then you're probably not going to be loving the stools. One of mine came with damage on the legs, too, which is disappointing. 3. As stated above, damage. Mine came with a chunk from one of the legs cracked off. It's noticeable and it makes me nervous that that stool is going to give out much sooner than it should. 4. This unit actually rolls considerably well- but only when the leaf is up and the table is full sized. When you drop the leaf down, two of the wheels seem to compete with each other and it is much more difficult to slide anywhere. I almost tipped the thing over this way, and I wasn't even pushing that hard. Maybe this isn't a drawback, but just a head's up- down roll it until it's fully extended. So I've listed some cons but honestly, it wasn't too expensive. It's compact and useful. Besides not being as sturdy as I'd like, it serves its purpose- a cute little table to have my morning coffee and toast or a light dinner. I've been eating over the sink since I moved in a few weeks ago so this thing is a welcome relief. Would recommend.

I wasn't even planning on getting a kitchen table because I didn't want to lose anymore square footage. The way my apartment is set up, a table will be in the way no matter where it sits. But when I ran across this little gem I changed my mind. When they say space saving, they really mean it. I especially love that the stools tuck under the table! I ordered the Teak. I'd say it's fairly true to the picture, maybe a hair darker, but certainly not a deep brown. I'd have liked a darker brown option, but I'm still pleased with what I have. Let's talk construction. It can take some time to put this together. Granted, I went slow to make sure everything was right, but I'd say plan on a couple hours if you're constructing this solo. I just put on a movie and went to work. You will need a Phillips screwdriver briefly (for the tabletop), but most of it is put together with an Allen wrench they provide. If you have your own Allen wrench set, use it. It's not terrible, the one you get, it's just cumbersome after awhile. Take a look at the wheels before you start popping them in, as a couple of them have breaks on them, and you'll want them in a particular spot. The swing out leg when you put it on seems like it would be insecure and flimsy, but once you get the tabletop on it no longer seemed to be an issue. Some other tips: Put in the screw concealers near the handle before you put on the tabletop, it's just less hassle. When you're attaching the tabletop, screw in a screw at the front and kiddy corner on the back (a diagonal direction) and that should make attaching the other two easier. Don't tighten them all the way until you have all four screws lined up and it should be easier. When you're putting the screw concealers on, if you don't have a rubber mallet, get a small washcloth and use it as a cushion with a regular hammer. You'll get it secure without damaging the wood. Some of them will need a hammer to be secured. The stools are NOT bar stools, so they are short, but that's to line up with the table. I also use them as TV trays sometime, so I REALLY love this table! So many uses. If you're looking for an arts and crafts table or need to save space like me, do yourself a favor and pick this thing up!

I’m so happy with this little set. Easy to assemble on my own, very sturdy, doesn’t look like I paid 200 Canadian dollars shipping included. The colour is a true Teak colour, glad previous reviewers mentioned that it’s a lot lighter in person. I still love it, I have a really small kitchen with limited counter space. I will use this as a kitchen cart for cooking then flip the leaf up to use as a table if I have a guest. This set is small! I’m not sure what the weight limit is, not flimsy but might not be super comfortable for bigger people. For me it’s just perfect, everything packed well, no scuffs or marks. I’m impressed with the quality and value. I couldn’t find anything like this in my city.

Easy to assemble and looks good, only lost a star as not sure how robust the wood will be once it starts to be used on a regular basis as it seems on the soft side so could dent and mark easily, time will tell. For now though very happy with the item.
